rafferty So over all the talk of Clubland Hardcore, the way people are talking it's the only Hardcore Cd that gets released:) How about we find out what's going on with the next Hardcore Underground. Anyone know?? I know it's the favourite Hardcore album for a lot of people here.

When it will be released?
What is the possible line up?
Who you'd like to see mixing on the CDs?
Dys7 I've been wondering this myself.
DJ Hellfury When CDJay, Darwin or Fracus release more information over facebook or homepage I (or someone quicker) will make a thread about it in tracks/album forum, at least I watch their accounts and sites on a daily basis.

quote:
Who you'd like to see mixing on the CDs?

Darwin B2B Fracus
Marc Smith B2B Brisk
Sharkey (will never happen I guess but I would be insanely happy about it)
CDJay Released... 2013.
The line-up is confirmed. Work has loosely begun, although officially won't start compiling until April.
Sharkey is focusing on his artist album, and won't be mixing HU6.
Message ends.

CDJay
Claxton If Gammer wasn't drafted into CXH at the last minute I reckon we might have seen him doing a HU6 mix.

Would love to see them separated but I think Fracus & Darwin will have a mix together (probably CD2).

Last CD will most likely be Freeform. Olly Thumpa or Substanced and Aryx would be nice!!

CD 3 maybe a breakbeaty vibe going on. CLSM, Gavin G (perhaps not because of his mix on the breaks album), Entity. Who knows, Demo or Bananaman may get the nod!

CD1 could be something similar to the last one with Technikore and Al Storm. Maybe some new names who haven't appeared before. Or F&D could be disc one with Marc Smith mixing on disc two (again maybe not because of his album).
Torpex *shudders at the sheer number of amazing HU and HU-powered albums in the pipeline*
wong im much more excited by the unmixed artist albums that this. although this will still be good

Agreed! F**k futureworld I still think that Hardcore Underground has a shot to repeat their win for best label at the HH awards this year!
Samination any tracklist on the hhc album. I presume Darwin is a dead give away :P, but the rest?

There are seriously people around here doubting that Hardcore Underground will win first place for best label?

Don't listen to my mix of The Legend's tracks, then. Thirty tracks in 123 minutes lol.
wong i like slow mixing aswell :) im just greedy and want more tracks, and actually ive listened to some of your mix and was enjoying it, i plan on listening to the whole mix at work tomorrow

Hard2Get Hixxy used to do that in the 90's sometimes (fast mixes). And he did it in such a way that it was really really good.

yea well these days there isn't anything fast about Hixxy lol
rafferty Will be interesting to hear the the line up, I wonder if any hints can be dropped whether there will be anyone mixing on HU 6 that hasn't been on before?
CDJay Yeah.

Lineup will be announced in under a fortnight.
wong hints plz. something like mal tornado or summat ya know
DJ Hellfury Let's gamble meanwhile what line-up it will be since every HU had different DJ-combinations.

In the pot are:

Fracus
Darwin
Marc Smith
Al Storm
Brisk
CLSM
Kutski
Lost Soul
Oli G
Bananaman
Fade
Technikore
Slipmatt
Entity
Douglas
A.B.

Stormtrooper (probably, but i doubt it)
AMS (probablybut i doubt it)
JAKAZiD (probably)
Chwhynny (don't know if she is djing so "probably")
Serenity (probably)
Thumpa (probably, but i guess he will appear)

did I missed someone?

I will create an random name selection in OpenOffice meanwhile ^_^

wong fade b2b bananaman maybe?

Dont know if HU works with Sy but i doubt it.

Anyway, first shot in my name selection Oo sheet:

Thumpa & Stormtrooper
A.B. & CLSM
Marc Smith & Technikore
Lost Soul & Oli G

^^'

Interesting what combinations I get but, in all seriousness, I would like to see this:

Fracus & Marc Smith
Thumpa & Douglas
CLSM & Stormtrooper
JAKAZiD & Darwin

or this:
Fracus & Darwin vs. JAKAZiD
Fade & Bananaman
Thumpa & A.B. vs. Douglas
Brisk & Marc Smith

I doubt that. It would be beyond awesome if he starts mixing for HU but only if he got something new in the pocket and WHO knows how many tunes he produced til now.
_Jay_ Fcuking hell, can you imagine that?! I don't dare get my hopes up. That said, he mentioned even before Christmas that he was back in the studio, and he is starting to take some bookings. COULD IT BE?!

I highly doubt it, but my God it would be unbelievable wouldn't it.

Well, it would be an awesome move.

Imagine following:
1) Massive backcat from all of his (well known) tunes for online shops
2) Promotional Mix on HU for his...
3) ...new album

and that
4) all at once

Not half!

Unlikely though, but the ever growing roster of HU artists means that the line up will be pretty special whoever ends up on it.

As i always say though, it'll be the music that persuades me, not the names on the cover.

Yeah that's true to an extent, but you know what you're likely to get if you know the DJ. And that's obviously some kind of indicator.

I am well excited for the Freeform mix this time around, if there is one. In the almost 18 months since Hardcore Underground 5, my interest and passion for Freeform has fcuking sky-rocketed. Thumpa would be a pretty good choice. He's one of an extremely rare breed these days - a successful DJ that doesn't produce (I know he does have the odd production credit), and he just plays the best shit from a whole range of artists. His sets at raves have been my favourite by a long way over the last year or so.
Thumpa Very nice of you to say! Where do I send the cheque?
DJ Hellfury *whispers to jay* dude, take a free copy of against all odds instead.

And yeah, i agree with jay: Thumpa, you should appear on HU6 with Douglas or A.B.!

Lorenzo.Tweakn Jay can you adopt me? i'll be your protege. ;)
_Jay_ lol Pleased everyone's enjoying themselves!

Who's deffo going HU from here then? Should be a good sesh. Should be a good summer in general - the amount of phenomenal events in London this summer, Cannot WAIT.
Serenity I will be there, so you can put your foot in your mouth in person.
_Jay_ lol! Wouldn't have it any other way dude.

All things considered (what with my chequered relationship/history with the sauce) this isn't too embarrassing.

I'm going out large in London tomorrow. Bound to do something more cringing than this. I'll report back with details on Sunday.

Sometime this week then? Go on!
DJ Hellfury CD1: Fracus & Darwin vs. Al Storm or JAKAZiD or Technikore (Upfront)
CD2: Brisk & Marc Smith (Upfront & Gabber)
CD3: CLSM & Entity or Slipmatt (Breaks)
CD4: Douglas & A.B. (Freeform)

Something like that? I'm sure the genres are at least right!
Captain Triceps Fracus and Darwin
Slipmatt and Vibes
Brisk and Marc Smith
Luna-C

Would do it for me!
(Well, I'll be purchasing anyway but this would be cosmic)
Vladel Disk 1:- SY & Brisk
Disk 2:- Fracus & Darwin (i like these guys nowadays)
Disk 3:- Slipmatt & Eufeion
Disk 4:- some freeform guys ( Can't say how much interest i lost after Kev left the scene).
Claxton Darwin just announced on Facebook... "Hardcore Underground 6 line up might be up today!."

I'm going to guess.....

CD1: Scott Brown & Al Storm (BIG guess this one!!)
CD2: Fracus & Darwin
CD3: CLSM, Entity & Demo
CD4: Thumpa, A.B & Douglas

I'm trying to fit Marc Smith on there but can't quite. I think he could be on it though. I don't think Brisk will be on it. I'm also unsure about the Freeform CD. HU usually keep their line-ups fresh from the last one however, I'm struggling to see who they would pick over AB and Douglas. Maybe Aryx?

Can't agree that everyone is trying to sound like Douglas, his style is unique and can't be emulated in my opinion. Be interested to hear some examples of tracks that you think a trying to sound like his though!

Personally think Freeform is the strongest and most diverse for years and this is an opinion shared by a lot of the people I speak to.

Top producer.
CDJay Okay kids, as promised.

Before I unleash myself, props to Claxton for guessing incredibly closely at the start of this thread and even more closely later.

So, the line-up is *drum rolls*

CD1 - Scott Brown & Al Storm
CD2 - Fracus & Darwin
CD3 - CLSM & Entity
CD4 - Thumpa & Obie

We've already started compiling, and have been stockpiling internally for a while. Public submissions will be taken soon, I'll post on here as soon as there's a reliable method for doing so!

We're very excited about this, and there's some truly awesome material already ready. It's gonna be good!

Shooting for the relatively vague "Summer" release period.

Wish us luck!

I'm just incredibly sad and spend a lot of time researching Hardcore haaa. All the clues were there.. The structure has pretty much been the same recently. Always goes from the more commercial side (cd1) down to freeform (cd4)

Scott Brown in a recent interview with HardBeatsCollective... "I've been asked to be involved in something in the near future, let's just leave it at that right now :)".

Al Storm has done a lot of work with Scott Brown in the past as well as being a regular with HU (and has a forthcoming album with Euphony coming out on HU) so he was the logical choice to partner him.

Fracus and Darwin were obviously going to have a disc. Brisk moved to Australia so I guess he wouldn't be doing it with them.

Then there was the breakbeat disk. Gavin G has just mixed the HU Breaks album so I didn't think it would be him. CLSM and Entity are the obvious choices. I thought with the recent emergence of Demo and Bananaman, one of them may have had a go...

Then the freeform disc. I didn't think the same names would be on as last time but couldn't pin it. Should have seen Obie coming becuase he has had a lot of acitivty lately.

WOW!! What a loser I am.

The thing i'm most looking forward to is the new Scott Brown material and what direction that takes. Hardcore Underground are by far the best thing in Hardcore at the moment. Leading the way in style!!!

DJ Hellfury Geez... I guess Hardwired IV is on it's way in late 2013/early 2014, released on HU ofc.

Getting goosebumps when I even think about that.

Rumour has it, Ben spent most of the following day in a hotel room the day after the last HU event in London.

I know what I'm normally doing in a hotel room on a Sunday.

Stuff so disgusting and degrading that I can't bring myself to do it in my own home.

Dirty, dirty man!!! I'm never stopping in a hotel room with you. ohh and you're uninvited to that sleepover ;)

Ha ha ha!

Quality. Absolutely buzzing for it! :-)
Dogsy Chuffed to see Scott Brown on there- I've wanted to see a SB B2B Al Storm CD for a while now this is going to be interesting- hopefully plenty of bouncy evo style stuff.
Rest of the line up looks great also. Looks like another varied album. I was thinking it was a shame Brisk isn't on there but his albums coming anyway so plenty of new stuff to hear from him.

Nice one HU :)

CD1 - Scott Brown has been taking pointers from Hixxy. This works about as well as you'd expect. Al Storm's tracks, on the other hand, are lauded as the best he's ever done.
CD2 - Turns out to be a bait and switch- it's actually a Breeze CD.
CD3 - Sounds exactly like Breeze's DnB mix on CLXH9 but nobody seems to notice. The best CD on the album, regardless.
CD4 - 100% hardstyle with Obie rapping over the entire thing.

Personally I think it will be more like this:

CD1 - Dubcore
CD2 - Dubby dubcore
CD3 - Dutch hardcore from 1993-1995
CD4 - A freeform rendition of 4'33"

Vladel I know it's slightly off topic but whatever happened to happy hardcore underground?
CDJay We had some licensing issues at the last minute, and then decided (with recent events being an obvious incentive) to expand the project beyond the original digital bundle plan.

More to come, but it'll be after the Brisk and HU6 albums (which are next in line!)

so, any chance those copyright issues tracks will be available for free, or maybe on a future HU ep???

and super ecstatic about it being expanded, that could only mean that it will more than likely be another multiple disc album!
rafferty Man they must have read peoples minds, or some people have an extra sense when it comes to guessing. Glad Scott Browns on board. The guy has a cult following even though he hasn't produced in ages.

Hopefully this great opportunity will get him back into production, I think Scott was a bit disillusioned with Hardcore for a while after having a quite few things not go right like - The ending of mixing Bonkers
Some issues with his distributors going bankrupt and losing money.
As well as other things.

New chapter I hope for one of the Hardcore godfathers:)
Vladel So can we expect the brisk album soon?
Samination wouldn't be suprised they made a remix of Eyeopener and now AATW doesn't want it on it.

JAL strikes again?
_Jay_ Tracklist is imminent, and according to CDJay, there are:

"...over 100 different names in the top-line crediting alone. It's almost like it's a compilation album!

You can say that about CXH and it would be true, but you are a total bellend for saying that about an HU mixed album. They are currently the most diverse hardcore mixed album out there and are the only ones who are keeping up with the same formula of diversity the original Bonkers series had.

I wouldn't be suprised it's over 500 if you count any kind of developement. But actual acknowledged production? I wouldnt say it's over 100, even if we count the people from UK, US, Spain and Japan (with the odd pairs from the rest of the world)

It should be more than 100, even when it sounds extraordinary and unrealistic at first thought, but we will see tracklist soon anyway.
CDJay The 100+ names are in top line crediting. So it does include vocalists, as well. Still a shedload, however you try to take it.

We've bought ourselves about a week of "polish" time, so whilst all agreements are being countersigned, and stuff like the booklet is beavered away upon, some tweaks can be done to masters, tracks, transitions etc. It's going to be all shiny. SHINY/PRETTY/SPARKLEZ!!!!!!

Ahem.

It's nice to be at this point and actually have time to go over everything those last few times, we're usually so up against whatever ridiculous self imposed deadline we've put in the system that people end up sleeping on the floor in shifts to keep things faintly on track.

DJ Hellfury Ok, let see if he keeps his word when we reach 500bucks/euro haha

latininxtc I'd much rather see rainbows and unicorns on the artwork than some half-naked twat on the front :)
AceofSpades_Lorenzo Hardcore Underground presents
Rainbows & Unicorns! the ultimate cheese album :D
wong nowt wrong with half naked twats. fully naked twats are much better though
CDJay .... But i'm shy.

kazukism92 needs glow, 3d artwork, rainbow, unicorns and wild animals.
Dys7 Think of it mate! this could be the defining point of your album. People will go
"I love that hardcore underground album!"
"Which one?"
"The one with the rainbow unicorn!"
"Oh yeah mate me too!"

AceofSpades_Lorenzo CDJay, if you're serious about this. I might have to strike a deal with you for an album in 2014 that features a rainbow & unicorn

Ok it's taken me a while to get around to replying to this somewhat overzealous reply to what was a half probably true off the cuff remark referring to the ridiculous amount of fracus and darwin tracks on the last album. So here is a translation for latininxtc ; i made a joke about the new album based around the old album, you see there was a lot of fracus and darwin on it??? see what i did there or do you have to finish reading it after you've finished your period??

see what else i did there? i went to your level oh and by the way we stopped using bellend about twenty years ago....

Now that reply is just about as overzealous as yours next time you could just say you disagree.

Edited to add;

DJ Hellfury there isnt complete radio silence, they will release tracklists (HU6 and Brisk album) this week (i guess), cdjay said on fb that they still have minor tasks to do 3~ days ago.
