DJ_Solstice i got my decks in june 2000, i got a package deal from Sapphires Sound & Light in London (they really are gud!!) i got a pair of Numark TT1910's and a DM905 BlueDog2 mixer.....................2 years on and my stuff is buggered!! let this be a lesson to all starter DJ's, save up your money cos u definateley get what you pay for!! the pitch on my numarks is so terribly weak now, my tone arms are loose, my platters arent very strong, and the cartriges have started to wobble. my crossfader on my mixer is completeley shagged too! i can still mix perfect on them cos ive learnt to adjust to them but seriously, get urself some technics or vestax, yeh they are pricey but after a heavy testing session in Hard To Find Records, Birmingham, i have seriously been mising out!!

Oh and NEVER EVER let ur mates borrow ur stuff for a xmas house party for a few hours until u arrive! i did that..........well, lets not go there..........(6 f'ing stylus'!!)

Oli G yeah i did the same

DJ Mouse numark are notorious for the pitch wearing out on their decks.
go for gemini if you can't afford technics.
as for vestax,i don't like those decks one bit. but they make the best mixers

Peter_Gozenya I totally disagree with you that vestax makes the best mixers. By far Rane and Allen and Heath make the best mixers. Pioneers are ok, but not the best. I would say the Rane MP44 is by far the best DJ MIXER out there. Built in limiters, and the sweetest crossfader and curve money can buy.

Just cause your smart doesn't mean you can't act stupid!!!
