StrifeII Im getting some new speakers soon and i want to know what to look out for. SHould I get a pair of geminis which are 300W with 2 tweeters and 1 mid, with 12inch cones or A pair of kam's with 200W and 12inch cones. They are only for bedroom use and i have pretty strict parents on sound levels, so what would be a good choice???

Soren I would strongly suggest staying away from gemini speakers. they suk. And i've never heard of Kams... sorry.

But if you have noise restrictions I'd look into getting a pair of 8" or 10" speakers max. The smaller drivers will produce tighter bass, but less bass overall which is good for HHC and especially good in a Bedroom or whatnot where 12's would sound looser and shake the whole house :)

StrifeII hmm...well thats totally changed my opinion, ha ha. Do you think I should bother with tweeters and a mid? And i'm probably going to buy astro projection boards to louden the sound so its all good! Can you recommend any good makes of speaker, apart from the obvious ones (cerwin-vega!, etc.) Thanx in advance.

Soren Honestly if you can't turn them up too loud then you don't really good speakers. I'd say if you can just go to a store and listen to a bunch of 8's and 10's and buy the cheapest ones that sound good to U :)

"Do you think I should bother with tweeters and a mid"

What you mean? Do you need them at all? If so yes you do. At least a 2-way (Woofer+Tweeter) that sounds decent. I was just saying that you don't need the power of a 12" woofer. But you still need Mids and Tweeters. A good 8" 3-way speaker is exactly what U need I think (a 8" woofer, mid, tweeter combo speaker) :)

mc trev get some walfdale or tannoy speakers a couple of hundred quid
