As we finalise plans for the back end of 2010 and how we would like to kick off 2011, one thing thats requires attention is our back catalogue. We are now 2 years old and are coming up to our 50th release and because of this we feel that the time is right to have a bit of a 'clean up'.
So as of the 20th October the below releases will no longer be available to buy from any of IMOdownload, Trackitdown or Junodownload ever again and are in essence being discontinued. So if you wish to buy any of the below tracks, we have reduced the price of them at IMOdownload and Junodownload until they are removed:
(Remember if you do not buy these tracks before 20th October, your chance will be gone)
Just click the links under each track to trigger a clip. Prices start from just 79p at Junodownload and 75p at IMOdownload!!

Not only that but why would you erase some of your catalogue? If the quality of the first racks released doesn't compare to the newer stuff I'd say look at other labels. Not all the stuff released is pro quality from the start. That's the only logical thing I can think of why you're doing it Redwingz since it's all digital and is really not taking up space in some warehouse with unsold copies which in my opinion would be the only reason for a "clean up". You should be proud of reaching 50 releases. I know I would. |

Dont get me wrong we are incredibly proud to be reaching 50 releases on November 1st. The main reasons behind this move are:
- A few artists are not 100% happy with those tracks anymore or dont feel it represents them stylistically.
- Sales on those tracks have virtually stopped completely (except perhaps the odd unit every few months) This makes accounting harder. Once these tracks are taken off sale, we are financially square with the artists, rather than 1 of their tracks selling another copy in 2 years time and us oweing them 50p or whatever and trying to track them down to pay them.
- A major download website that we want to sell through will not take our back-catalogue as it is, and feel that we need to remove some of it or else we will never be able to sell via this site.
- NSR is entering its 3rd year and we are changing as a label, our outlook on the scene and the style of music we want to push is now different. We want our catalogue of music to reflect the future NSR as well as our past.
Im not saying that none of these tracks will ever be available again, but for the forseeable, as of the 21st October, they wont be available. |

hmm it is a tuff one to call but I can see where your coming from mate. The only other suggestion I could give would be to launch a new sister label like "NSR+" (obviously not that lol but just as example)
This way it's a making a point of the label growing up & moving onto new & better things. Just another idea mate but atleast you could still draw a line & then take a different direction.
Whatever you decide to do I just want to say, you've done an immense job with NSR so far mate & you really are an inspiration to me & what I hope to achieve when I eventually launch a label. I still push & help promote your tracks whenever I can & always get great feedback on them. Good luck with the future whatever it may bring & keep the tunes coming! : ) |

They might not like it, but some people still do?
and don't feel like it represents them? Fuk that, are they Vinylgroover now? Seriously, they must have liked the style they produced at one time, or they wouldn't have made music in the first place... unless they're vinylgroover :P
With the exception of Vinulgroover, how would you feel if Raverbaby or Evolution never puts up their MP3's on a store? Or what if Next Gen never released mp3's at all? I'd be gutted, I bought alot of stuff from nextgen when they open up the mp3 store (heck I even tried buying before it was officially opened :P).
Bottom line is, no one should be ashamed of their heritage. |

for the record - i'm more than happy with mine, its how i wanted it to sound and i'm not one of those who dont think it represents them stylistically.
granted i might go back to it now, seeing as i have the ol new setup in place, hearing it on my new Rokit Gp8's really made a difference and i can see what i can change.
plus i made it in FLstudio...and i just bought + installed cubase 5, so i can revisit it properly.
but yeah - still more than happy with it, so yeah...just to re-iterate, i'm in the group that arent selling (or arent selling anymore) not the group that feel like their old songs dont represent them
:) continue! |

You make it sound like FL Studio is incapable of producing good sound :p |

Samination - As I say, Im not saying these tracks will never be available ever again. Artists may with to revisit their tracks and release updated versions (as Triq mentioned). Or we may be able to sort something out with certain artists were we can put some of the tracks up as freebies on our website next year sometime. But that would be down to each individual artist and 1 or 2 of them are very hard to contact these days.
As I have said, if we wish to sell via a certain major download site, we have been told that this must be done. So Im torn between keeping tracks that may only ever sell another 1 or 2 copies a year, if that. Or progressing the label and making us available on another big download website. |

oh... maybe that's the reason why I found more and more track disappear from stores like IMO and Juno... gutted.
I presume they ask the labels before removing them? incase the labels lost the original files |

We currently sell these releases via IMOdownload, Junodownload and Trackitdown. They are all happy for us to continue selling these tracks, however, we want to sell our tracks through another download site who have requested that our back-cat is tidied up first before we are accepted. |
