Why do they only release tape packs of rave events and not put them out on cd? I really want some from the mid nineties when hardcore ruled. The reason I ask is that I have a really hard time finding tape packs in my area and all the hardcore cds that are coming out are usually that trance core thing. Not that im totally against the new stuff but I really miss that old skool sound with mental mcs shouting in the backround.

coz of a few reasons, you don't have to fart about with a pc when going onto tape. and if you do go onto cd ppl will expect to have the tracks split up,which takes time and 3 times the hard drive space. that's just for one set too. another one is expense. blank tapes cost less than cd's, also your typical tape deck will record whereas your typical cd player won't. and to get a cd player that records costs alot and is harder to get a hold of.
i suppose you can get round the costs by charging more, but ppl won't buy it,we're all used to tapes

do they? in retail quantities tapes cost about 3-4 times as much as cd's (albeit for a longer play/record time) IME.

i dont know about the uk, but here a tap costs maybe 20 times the price of a blank cd, and its actually easier to record everything onto cd than onto tape. And i havent seen a tape player in a lot of time, i didnt know people still used those

the uk are fare behin thats the reason they still use tapes

Because tape packs are bootleg live recordings that all the labels don't like because they get no money from it... Ask any label or artist they will say the same... If they released it on CD I am sure you would have even more pissed off people :)

CD's aren't more expensive to produce than tapes at all. If anything, they're cheaper!
Slammin have done CD's of their ummm april event I think and Vibealite have been doing CD's for a while. Check the websites, www.vibealite.info and www.slamminvinyl.co.uk , they do old skool CD's as well :)
And 96 Hardcore isn't Old Skool mate!

So ... what you're saying is that you're *encouraging* people to buy unlicensed HHC reproductions?
