Thought a few folk on here might be interested in my latest mix which shows how Hardcore used to be many moons ago:
In the early-to-mid 90s Scotland was producing, and dancing to the sound Bouncy Techno as the rave scene exploded. The music itself was simple and raw but the key elements made it great to dance to. Hard, energetic, bouncy & no-nonsense, it was an adrenaline rush to hear on a big sound system.
All but one of the tracks chosen were produced in Scotland and it goes from 155 - 165 bpm.
Tracklist below:
Hyperact - That Sample
Auriga - Isotope
Bass X - Hardcore Disco Part 2
Dance Overdose - Overdose Stomp
Sub Source - The Hardcore Anthem
Scott Brown - Now is the Time
Ultimate Buzz - Check Da Bass (Scott Brown Remix)
Bass X - Bass X
Scott Brown - Detonated
Mulhouse - Rave in the Jungle

Interesting, I'll need to check these out on Youtube to see if I agree. My favourite Bouncy Techno tracks have to be:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvVCcRX_IGw#aid=P-W13diloCE and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpwZm5jVi90 Didn't start going to raves until 97 but when these tracks were ever dropped, they did serious damage! |
