Pretty much, I Like my music loud, really loud, and i dont want to lose my hearing early or get tinnitus , what are some tips for i can get used to hearing my music at a lesser volume??? |

I think you can get in ear filters which can protect your ears from loud music. It's helpful for DJ's who need to hear music in headphones loud enough to hear over the speakers. If you want to listen to music loudly, then you're putting your ears at risk. Filters will lower the volume helpfully in loud scenarios, but if you're worried about tinnitus enough, you have the option to turn your music down. Personally, I think Headphones are better than earphones. Earphones transmit some serious bass into your ear when a pair of headphones can be loud, but not be so bassy. Since using headphones, I've not had much issue with ringing ears, so I doubt I'll go back to earphones again - certainly not deep in ear ones. |

Dont worry about it. Just listen to the music !! : make sure you have a break from listening though every now and again.. |

I've had mild tinnitus for a few years now from blasting my music and although it's not constant it's worrying and annoying. I'm only 29.
I've got some decent ear plugs that I wear to parties now (when I remember to bring them). Definitely helps.
I find if you get decent audio equipment then listening at quieter volumes is much more agreeable. Everything is nice and clear still and you can get all the right frequencies through. If you just turn everything down and put up with it sounding a bit quiet for a while it'll become the norm eventually. |

^ what Gaz said and
be aware that messing about with the Bass/Treble on your sound system can boost ear damaging frequencies.
Music producers are careful to remove these nasties from their tracks, so,
don't be clever and inadvertently put them back with unnecessary knob twiddling.... you have been warned.

Always wear open backed headphones. Play 15kHz sine wave constantly through them quite loudly. All day. Every day.
That should get you to turn it down. |

^^This is what I do.
I also check visually where the marker on my headphones out from mixer or soundcard is at, so whenever I feel tempted to boost, I won't. That's also a sign that my ears need a break.
use earplugs for loud events. |

I definitely advise getting a set of ear plugs, custom made preferably. Your looking at ?100+ but I can tell you now, that's nothing if you compare to the loss of your hearing!
Also like Olly said, avoid in ear headphones, avoid like the plague! |
