hey :) im new around here sorta. ive been lurking for a bit and decided to make an account
im not sure if this is the correct place to post this, apologies if it isnt, but i made a track (idk how to genre it, sounds a bit like freeform but not sure because its trance inspired)
i am very new and unexperienced/bad :p at music so dont expect much. help would be appreciated though
https://soundcloud.com/pusga/thallium i tried to keep it simple, i find that whenever i get lots of ideas it just sounds like a huge mess also tell me if the volume sounds too low, my daw sometimes decides to do that... edit: my bad, i deleted the song by accident. i updated the link with a newer version though which i like a bit more |

the acid part where quite nice, but the 2nd part might need some more work. Sometimes it does sound nice when keeping it simple, but I dont think it works well with the 2nd part of your track.
oh and welcome to the forums :) |

All of this. Starting to get the sounds in place and what not. Mix just needs more work and the lead needs some work in terms of the notes you've used. Good start though, keep at it. |

The lead melody just sounds wrong to me. It's not in a major key, is it?
I mean, it's fine if you were going for an intentionally dysphoric effect but otherwise it needs fixing. |

not bad but you gotta add hithat on the beat and add reverb on the melody. |

The ride normally sits on the beat, the high hat is most commonly put on the off-beat (in-between beats). |

Yes, I agree to the majority in this thread! It's really potential material, but it need lots of more input. I hope you'll receive really strong and helpful hints in this forum to improve your work. |

The first half of the track really reminds me of something from the 95/96 Technodrome days. Needs some tweaking but I think it has legs. It's a bit moody!!! :-) |
