djDMS Oh dear!

Captain Triceps Yeah I'm underwhelmed, is this just a mix? He's picked some tunes to make into a mix?
johnnygomental Wow, just another happy hardcore mix full of tracks on every other happy hardcore mix! There are so many lesser known tracks that could have been selected. Shows how much his hearts in it :-[
latininxtc I know it's been 15yrs since he's made an album but does he have to be stuck in that same mentality? No one does, or should do, an album of a single mix CD anymore unless it's something you're giving away for free as a promotional disc, or you're klubfiller who charges 10 quid for what should be a soundcloud download.

It would be nice if it was followed up by some of his dj friendly and unmixed productions on an additional CD, but a mixed CD with tracks that have been overplayed to death on dozens of albums already is not even worth pennies to me anymore.

That! That! 100% what I thought of Klubfiller, just never had the words to say it so poetically!

I bought the first Klubbed Up Summer Anthems, its nothing better than I could do and I consider myself poor on the decks, comes on a really poorly printed CDr and the tracklist is in the wrong order.

lmao wtf you mean he really just burned those bitches from his own computer(s), stuck them in a thick paper sleeve and called it a day? That is fucking shameful.

I'm so glad that people are finally understanding how much we've been wanting artist/label albums all these years. I know they've been done before, but HU really has pushed the standard that this is what we want.

I really think that Vinylgroover should worked with HU to release something more proper than this. Either he wanted to do this all his own, or he's still pretty detached from the scene that he doesn't even know the amount of album releases they've hand in the last 3-4yrs.
Captain Triceps He's clearly done this as much for himself, as anyone else. I don't think it's particularly typical of what he was playing back then anyway, from what I remember. I was expecting a World of Obsession mix (which makes more sense in every way), or even unmixed World of Obsession remasters. Not a bloody mix. I know this sort of thing was a bit more normal when he was last active, but this is ridiculous.
Even those tracks separately have been available unmixed for years.
Audio Warfare Meh. Absolutely no interest in a load of tracks I have on far too many albums already. Bit of a shame really.

Or someone else has specified a load of tracks that he has to use in the mix... Whoever is putting out the CD. It's a possibility I guess, he may not have total control on the project.

There is nothing wrong with the mix as such but most of us who would still buy this sort of album want something a bit different I suspect. I don't think filling it with the obvious anthems will do them much good these days.
Samination inb4: "They got what they wanted, but they still WHINED. God damn haters!"
Captain Triceps Oh, I've been waiting for that along the road somewhere. Perhaps he's going for a negative reaction as an excuse not to go back to hardcore ever again?
It's very far fetched, though.
Mortis It looks like the album might be released on the Supersonik label.

From VG: "Just had MC Freestyle to the studio / first time in years! Doing an introduction for the Vinylgroover old school Supersonik Hardcore mix! Its coming your way soon" (Next month according to him).

From Supersonik on 23rd May: "Brand new hardcore Supersonik compilation album in the works, physical and digital release - 2xCD".

djDMS Mixed and unmixed 2CD release would make it much more appealing

But again, as great as those tunes are, almost all have been available unmixed digitally for years.

Craigavon raver Was expecting an actual artist album, not just a mixed comp by him, but will have to wait till the final product to decide whether to purchase or not

The 2nd half of the mix he's played at countless raves, go and listen to his sets from 96/97!

Well, I know. I just think there could have been more actual Vinylgroover tracks, or ones that he was known for playing more then others, rather then mostly played-by-everyone tracks.
Midnight Express, loads played that one. A handful played Rave Theme, Sy & Unknown mainly caned Kick it, every cunt played Eternity, Your Mine and Devotion...
I think when I think back to my favourite VG sets from back then, it was all Like A Prayer, Passion, Love Is, his remix of Toytown, Fairytales & Angels, Shelter Shelter, etc etc etc
I'm sure it will be a very brilliant mix.
djscavenger Such a shame, was expecting an album of his work over the years from Midas, Big Beats, World of Obssesion & Prime. But no we just have another generic mix.
wong 'Vinylgroover / gammer / dougal - now that would be tasty! if it ever happened!?'

^^^ that is what vinylgroover has just said to dougal on facebook
