skankineddie666 So recently I purchased Thumpas lasted release "Ain't No Grave". I bought this just out of curiosity knowing it would have less "DUBCORE" sound to it. I was blown away by the amazing music. Don't get me wrong I've listen to Freeform before but listening to this album flipped a switch inside my head that made me crave that freeform sound! So now im hooked to the point that i've gone back and listen to the freeform albums in the Hardcore Underground series which i would skip over.

So my question to you all is where do I start when it comes to freeform??? I know thumpa released many comps which are no longer available. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as far as freeform compilations. Kinda curious to see if there is like a "CLUBLAND XTREME" freeform equivalent out there. I know it sounds silly but I'm not very knowledge able when it comes to freeform so any help would be great. THANKS!!!!!

If that would happen AATW would have watered it down to shit.

As far as all-freeform albums go, I think all of Thumpa's albums have now sold out so there's no point in trying to get those, unless someone is putting them up on sale on ebay, amazon or discogs. Stamina still has this one available I believe and it's a great one

If you want something older, you can always go and find some Bonkers for a good deal on amazon, and most of them had at least 1 all-freeform (or predominately) freeform. One of my favorite freeform cds from that series is CD2 from Bonkers 15. Don't bother with the AATW Bonkers they have nothing worth checking out.

Also, Hardcore Adrenaline was revived for a short period and had digital download albums, all predominately focusing on freeform

Yeah I own a few of the bonkers 2,5,6,7,9,11,17, Best of Bonkers and Original Hardcore. I enjoy the newer sound like 2009 and up. Not saying older freeform is bad just stating my preference.

Wasn't aware Hardcore Adrenaline made a comeback. I own the first 3 comps but non of them are freeform to my knowledge. Will defenetly check that out Thanks!

HAHAHA it would be terrible if AATW did make some sort of Freeform comp. I was just curious if there was like some compilation out there that had like a yearly release just like CLUBLAND use to do.

Any other freeform labels out there besides STAMINA and REBUILD??
Claxton There isn't really a freeform compilation.

Hardcore Underground have featured a Freeform disc on most of their compilations up until now so they're probably worth checking out.

There is the Freeformaniacs weekly podcast on this site's radio station.

Facebook link here: https://www.facebook.com/freeformaniacs

Also, Stamina Records have a podcast too. So that is a great way to listen to mixed freeform.

I never get to listen to the weekly podcast because it airs in the middle of the night for me.

WOW I wasn't aware of the Stamina Podcast Thanks!!!!!!!

I'm just trying to find some sort of starting point to follow more freeform so any infor is great.!!

THANKS!
Rodz90 You can't really go wrong listening to the Hardcore Energy albums Kev put out before he left, also his Nu Energy 100 release is something special.

Watchtower, Strictly for the purist, stamina, and the hard beats collective are all hot spots for freeform so be sure to continuously check those brands out and if there releasing albums/material.

Mickey Init Aside from the Bonkers series and the other aforementioned albums, I always give this a listen to when I enter my cyclic Freeform mode...

It's a bit old and I notice you're in the States so P&P might be a bit disproportionate but if you can get hold of a digital copy you'll appreciate it. I know you said you want the 2009 sound but this is a good starting point and you can trace the sound you're after from here.

Likewise for this...

The Hardcore Heaven compilations also had a Freeform mix on each release.
Mickey Init *Double post*
Rodz90 Also Thumpa does mixes pretty regularly and Stamina Records has a podcast

Thumpa latest mix: https://soundcloud.com/rebuild_music/thumpa-this-is-freeform-2014-winter-edition

Latest Stamina podcast: https://soundcloud.com/staminarecords/stamina-records-podcast-episode-005
skankineddie666 Thanks everybody! I will definitely be focusing on all artists, albums, record labels mention.
Samination Too bad you never really lsitened to Freeform, because 2002-2008 where the better years (imo)

Thumpa www.stamina-records.co.uk
www.smilingcorpse.com - they have a CD out at the moment, artist album by Qygen
www.watchtower-records.co.uk - they have a CD out soon, also Vol 1 and 2 might still be available?

check soundcloud for all the artists on Ain't No Grave, they mostly all have soundcloud accounts with tracks, free tracks and mixes etc!

Glad you enjoyed the CD, it makes my day when I come on here and someone is loving the ReBuild albums.
