I've recently discovered freeform, and I really like it, but I'm finding it a bit hit and miss finding labels, artists etc I like. Can anyone recommend a good place to start? |
Bad Corey |
Stamina, ReBuild, Project Badass are all really good. Rebuild's releases are all physical as of like 2010 I think. Also look up Electronica Exposed. Loads of good freeform on that label from a few years back. |

I have also just recently been converted to freeform =)
Check out stamina records. They have a podcast on soundcloud and it's amazing freeform. DJ A.B. and DJ Douglas are the styles and breeze of freeform.
Rebuild is going to be a little difficult to get a hold of because it releases physical compilations that are very limited. That being said it has some of the coolest freeform I've ever listen to. Thumpa has a few mixes on his soundcloud page as well.
Watchtower records is also a good freeform label
Also if you own or can find any of the bonkers cds they usually include 1 freeform disk on it (which I would always skip at first)
Check out the following djs: Sharkey, Kevin Energy, Darwin (Early stuff), ab, Douglas, and Marc Smith |

Depends on what kind of Freeform you like.
If you're into the newer kind look at Bad Corey's and skankin's post, but there are atleast 2 more variants.
The more hardkick oriented stuff that basicly died with Sharkey and Tazz (but continued by the Smiling Corpse crew).
And the Hard Dance influenced stuff (which at times does just feel like Hard Dance pitched up). Kevin Energy was producing something like that before he left (and he's back again it seems). |

What everyone else has said is good. :-) I'll add a few bits.

Anyone did mentioned Watchtower? |
Thumpa |
Watchtower 3 is meant to be out but I don't know what's happening, its been in the works a while. Check out www.watchtowerrecords.co.uk as volume 1 and 2 might still be available.
Check my mixes at www.soundcloud.com/rebuild_music too, loads of new music on there and most mixes have got a tracklisting so you can cross reference stuff! |

This is what introduced me to Freeform in the first place, I love both project badass albums, keep up the good work (please) :) |

Thumpa, you being the freeform boss and all, have you ever made one mix that showcases most of the styles of Freeform? Kinda like how I play alot of different Hardcore related styles in one mix? That would be a great way to showcase for alabaster |

If you want to be adventurist GAMMER made freeform back in the day and it wasn't too bad. |

The Japanese also make some good freeform. Check out Hommarju, older DJ Noriken, and DJ Technorch. Although Japanese core is generally more difficult to get your hands on :/ |

I've done best of ReBuild mixes which have all the styles I've released, but I've never done a mix of other labels that encompasses all the styles of freeform.

You could come to these two events, as well.

For older stuff check out the Label "Nu Energy" and its many sub labels http://www.discogs.com/label/4122-Nu-Energy, especially anything from 1998 - 2004, some amazing records came out at this time, try to download as many DJ Energy and Sharkey live mixes you can find from this time as well. |
Bad Corey |
Kevin Energy has recently been uploading all sorts of stuff to his SoundCloud, including tracks, mixes, event recordings, and even album mix spanning as far back as the late 90s. There is no better place to get a crash course in freeform history.

Someone mentioned Eletronica Exposed earlier. Great label. They also released two massive multi-disc download albums for free, too.
