Royzourboy Hey hey

Apologies if this is in the wrong place; this seemed like the most appropriate spot.

I've been trying to figure out what synth is used in the songs I've provided below. I'm referring to the synth heard very clearly at the very beginning of the first song and is used all throughout these two. It's in a number of songs, but these are the first ones that come to mind.

I went through the Roland D50 sounds and found some that sounded a heck of a lot like it, but were not exact. I also have the JD800 samples, which I went through to an extent but have not completely covered. I've done a lot of searching around and have come up emptyhanded. If any of you here could identify this synth/pad for me, that'd be really great! Thanks!
Hard2Get Definitely the right forum! That sonic tune is cringeworthy lol.
What i can tell you is that it's not from the Roland JV 2080 and therefore not the 1080 unless it's on one of expansion cards. You're right to look at synths like the D50 though. There are so many things it could be from! The Korg Wavestation and Roland W30 were a couple of popular synths from the early 90s so try them as well. A good starting point would be finding synths that were popular around that time.
Also, another thing is that those are 2 different pad sounds. The one in the sonic tune is not the same unless there are 2 pads layered and it's one of them. There are a lot that sound similar in general, and that doesn't include patches that have been edited or FX added to make them sound slightly different. A patch called Silky Way on the Roland JV2080 is a similar (and better imo) sound that was also popular. Here is a clip: http://www.synthmania.com/Roland%20JV-2080/Audio/USER/126%20Silky%20Way.mp3
You can check all the patches on the 2080 here (and other synths on that site too): http://www.synthmania.com/jv-2080.htm
Royzourboy Sweet, thanks! Thanks for the advice and the links. I'll look into them. :D
