I'm not familiar with hi-tech psytrance, but it sounds a lot like freeform to me.

Speaking of Psytrance, I am currently waiting for my copy of Goa Gil's Shri Maharaj album to get here!

interesting synopsis peeps ; i love psy and dont care for freeform at all really! i cant hear it ; i have heard a few freefrom tracks that use the psytrance bassline but it is usually really rare. would love to hear it more though . i think the hi tech psy is much stronger and much more melodic. i don't think a freeform party could ever go off as hard as a psytrance party either ;) also with other psy subgroups; breaks; goa; full on; honestly i would claim some of the other sub genres are closer to freeform than the harder psy like this .
