Looking to expand my collection with some quality CDs/albums for the early to mid-naughties. List anything - whether it was a bigger compilation of the era or a smaller one-off release. Links to Discogs would be nice.

FANX TEAM.

Samination Well I presume you already have/heard bonkers 9-12?

I have heard of Bonkers Sami, yes. Surprisingly. I own every Bonkers album.

What else ya got for me?

Hard2Get Off the top of my head, Masters Of Hardcore, the UK version. I'm pretty sure you know about it actually but both the B&S and S&U mixes are excellent showcases of the quality coming out that year (2002).

Excellent, Matt. Yes, we've spoken about this before. I'll snaffle this one up.

One of the best albums of this era, absolutely brilliant. Shame the Breeze & Styles mix is a little slow, especially after listening to the Sy & Unknown mix. I actually won that album from this site in a competition (and at the same time I won Bonkers 8 off USH!)
Anyway...
The second lot of Hardcore Heaven releases were really great:
http://www.discogs.com/Dougal-Breeze-Hardcore-Heaven-1/release/174817
http://www.discogs.com/Various-Hardcore-Heaven-2-Reloaded/release/172818

This one was decent as well:
http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Ultimate-Happy-Hardcore-Album/release/430935

This was a belter, cheap as well for what you get:
http://www.discogs.com/Various-Hardcore/release/239901

Looking at discogs there were stacks of them, the ones above were the ones that came to mind. I've got a shitload of some lesser memorable ones, nothing wrong with them but these ones were among the best. A lot of releases were also rebranded older compilations or just happy hardcore mixes, which are good if you can get them cheap.

Check this for a more comprehensive selection.

High five! I was well impressed when it arrived, and Bonkers 8 a day or so later, totally unexpected as I wasn't notified (well, I probably was but didn't see).

Another one, this was a freebie with a magazine but a great one if you can get it:

I feel like I've had that one at some point. Cover looks familiar, but no the tracklist. Maybe I borrowed it from a mate. Definitely look into that one. Three unmixed discs as well - could do with bolstering my mixable tune library from that era.

100% had that at some point. It may well be at my parents place, in the loft. I'll have to investigate.

I have these. Very strong albums.
Maggers It's a '99 CD but I acquired it in the early '00's and it's quite good - http://www.discogs.com/Sharkey-Mark-EG-Brainstorm-Hardcore-Trance-Fusion/release/135017

And of course the happy 2b hardcore series is classic, but not the best mixing.
djDMS I have a recommendation.

Do your own research you lazy bastard

BUT at least Frolic DID mix intro/outro. Hardly any DJ mixes now days showcase this type of mixing.

Careful! Keep up that kind of attitude and I'll boycott your Stomp! set in a few weeks!

What time you getting there, actually?

latininxtc Didn't you already ask this question? Or am I think of something/someone else?
_Jay_

You thinking of this?

http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&whichpage=1&TOPIC_ID=59796

Samination I think someone else did aswell

Jay: maybe not 2000-mid2000, but get Happy2bHardcore chapter 3 aswell.

This is the one! Massive killjoy of a link but it has everything from that period.

Here's a few that came to mind but may have been mentioned already with all the links flying around. Sorry for any duplicates...

http://www.discogs.com/Various-Hardcore-Til-I-Die/release/644075

http://www.discogs.com/Hixxy-Re-Con-Dougal-UFO-Hardcore-Til-I-Die-2/release/329853

http://www.discogs.com/Scott-Brown-Hardwired/release/327296

http://www.discogs.com/Scott-Brown-Hardwired-Vol-2/release/569320

http://www.discogs.com/Scott-Brown-10-Years-Of-Hardcore/release/395876

http://www.discogs.com/DJ-Storm-Euphony-Happy-Hardcore-Vol-3/release/329027

That "10 Years of Hardcore Vol. 2" is rare, apparently. I'm fortunate enough to have a copy but I got it from HMV at the time.

Hopefully making a day of it mate ;-)
Mickey Init What I find interesting about CDs/albums from this period is that it's roughly when sequencing took over from the traditional style of mixing and the tightness of the mixes improved dramatically (although, I've always preferred the actual craftsmanship of proper mixes) yet the sound quality is miles off what it is today. It must be all down to the samples and production gear of the time, i.e. the tunes themselves.

No that wasn't it. Probably was someone else entirely.
Audio Warfare Trying to avoid what has already been suggested:

Illegal Ravers

Goes through various genres ending in some Freeform and DnB. Top CD and such a nice progressive mix.

The WOW series from JAL is an interesting one too, deffo worth picking these up:

http://justanotherlabel.com/cat/albums/;/1/series.htm?p=1

Hardcore Tsunami/Hardcore Tunez series

Few albums put out by Silver

100%, 200%, 300% and 400% Nu Energy series

Should be in your collection. I'm sure there was a 100% Hardcore in a similar format but I can't find it online. Will have to check my CD's when I'm at home.

Next Generation and Blatant Beats: The Collection 1/2/3

What more needs to be said.

Hardcore Cheddar v Hardcore terror: The Backlash

It's older stuff but came out in that time period. Should still be in your collection. ;)

Hardcore: A New Beggining/The Second Coming/The Third Wave

Essential Scott Brown and Neophyte business.

I'm sure I've got plenty more I'm forgetting, I'll have to take a look later.

Nice, nice. My train gets in at 13.26. Meeting Ben and Big Matty about 2ish. Sound good?

Mmmm, yeah. Interesting observation.

Explain to me how sequencing works exactly (I imagine this is ultra basic 101 stuff for most people!)?

Nice one mate. I've got the two HTID CDs, and I've been meaning to pick up the Hardwired's for years. And yeah, also heard that the 10 Years of Hardcore Vol. 2 is pricey as fcuk as well.
