Samination only real exposure i have to Frenchcore has been through a few of DJ Sharpnel j-core stuff. I presume real Frenchcore isn't as melodic as that? :)
Shifter I wouldn't call it happy hardcore either :) May call it experiment, I don't mind doing my own kinda style unless it sounds bad.
There are many artists making frenchcore sound more melodic than needed, like Harry Potar, Dr Peacock, hyrule war and many more, I guess it's more about a matter of taste and some certain frames within the style in terms of what frenchcore is. Have to admit that I'm not always using standard set of instruments for a particular style of music, making a sort of a crossbreed of styles (don't mean crossreed style of music:)). Hopefully the result is satisfactory in general ;)
