mr_dom_uk i reckon itz guna mega suck ass.

mj-dream it could be shite but then it could be good its deffinately gonna get more people listening to our stuff.

whispering I see it as a good thing, for the music. Bigger labels coming in, they will all want "a piece of the cake", but they cant release 20 CD's mixed by Hixxy, Breeze, Styles, Scott Brown etc. Witch means there will be more variety on the styles and DJ's on the CD's. Well at least i hope it will evolve to that :)

But for you UK people. You might get lots of newbies at raves that dont really know how to behave, witch would be a bad thing for you. Though it could be the other way around.

mj-dream agree totally whispering.we all moan that we dnt want it to get too big but then we all moaned when the scene was drying up.its a good thing all in all.as for using the same djs all the time i ageree with that too.i would move heaven and earth to c oli g on bonkers or summat.and luna c variety will keep the scene kicking not the same old

mj-dream remember the name im here for fame
bulby_g The way I see it the bigger the scene gets the better it gets for most involved. People will soon learn that they can't step at of line at a hardcore party as long as everyone makes them aware of it. As for the cd I think it will do some good and probably be an ok release to be honest.

hardcore anorak lookin 4wad 2 this though breeze and styles on 2 discs um still good for hardcore scene

its anorak not anarach
dj_sidewinder Sounds good yes but will there be any difference in tunes from the new bonkers album or will there be 40 or so different tunes i think not.No harm to Breeze & Styles and of course Hixxy as at the end of the day AATW will chose what they want on the cd.

Mixing up a storm on the wheels of steel.
Hard2Get I think it will be wicked like any other Hardcore CD, it is mixed by Hardcore DJ's just the same, the only thing different is the label it's being released on :)

Simon It'll be interesting, but it's nothing we haven't seen before.

SixFeet i am looking forward to it, not really the cd, but the fact it might make it more public, hopefully getting more people in the scene can only be a good thing might see some raves start popping up round my end and getting it played in clubs

'Feel your pulse beat in unison with the music, this is hardcore baby!'
Triquatra im not sure what to think right now lol

you'll know its really kicking off when MOS release "Hardcore Euphoria"

now THAT would be cool :P

Loz_e i dont really know waht to think either?????

i will get the cd, wether its good or not is another matter.

as to the much discussed 'is commercialisation good for hardcore' topic. i basically think it will all be good apart from a few things.

i dont wanna c little pricks at raves misbehaving and......
i dont wanna c a hardcore tune entering the uk charts. coz then u will c hardcore everywhere and tunes will become boring quickly becuase they are overplayed.

'it shouldnt happen to a raver'
CDJay "but they cant release 20 CD's mixed by Hixxy, Breeze, Styles, Scott Brown etc. Witch means there will be more variety on the styles and DJ's on the CD's. Well at least i hope it will evolve to that :)"

We can but hope.

The good news in regards to this Clubland album.... I doubt we'll see many tracks duplicated on Bonkers. Nothing annoys me more than seeing the same tracks used repeatedly while new labels and producers are studiously ignored. I'm actually hoping this album will result in Bonkers being slightly more interesting than has been typical of late.... I'm a perpetual optimist tho :)

Ultimately this CD will get a lot of new people into the scene, the trick is to have an interesting and credible scene to keep 'em hooked. It is arguable that it exists already, but it's very hard to discern that unless you are fairly clued up. The average casual-raver probably thinks there are 5 labels and 10 producers in the entire world doing hardcore. Seriously, heh.

Triquatra one thing is for sure - this is a huge thing to happen to hardcore.

hardcore is going to get some huge exposure, everybody knows how big the clubland cds are in the UK - and everybody knows that once you start a collection...you just have to get all of them, so the clubland folk are going to get this cd even if they are un-sure about hardcore.

still think i would feel more comfortable about a "hardcore euphoria" than a "clubland extreme hardcore" cd...

this is going to be interesting :P

TypeR i have never seen a clubland cd, nor a bonkers cd in person. I feel left out of the hardcore community due to this. I've never heard a single mix off of any bonkers mix, nor have i seen or even heard of clubland. even though i have been in the hardcore scene for almost five years. bummer huh, guess thats why i don't ever have anything to say about these topics. where can i get bonkers cds at a reasonable price?

don't stand and stare, just kick your legs in the air
dj_sidewinder Go to www.amazon.com and type in bonkers in search box they have all the box sets there. And for any 1 in uk type in www.amazon.co.uk and follow same as above.

Mixing up a storm on the wheels of steel.
slavetomysoundwave Good news for hardcore, as it will undoubtedly bring more people into the scene. It does deserve more fans.

I guess Breeze and Styles are the only guys for the job, since they have chart exposure etc. Its a tough world, they compromised their tunes so that they could get mainstream success, and because of that they've got this deal, which will probably make them the most well known DJs in hardcore. Fair play. I won't be buying it tho.

My only hope is that this opens the doors and lets all the DJs/MCs/producers/etc get more exposure. I really hope this doesn't give hardcore a bad rep tho - exposure is good but then again everyone has heard of Britney Spears.

swansea247 clubland has just taken the biscuit and crushed it up right in my face. this album wont catch on at all and i can't see me getting this when it comes out.

Can you atleast wait for the tracklisting before you get an opinion whether about getting this album or not?

Underloop I'm going to be waiting for the tracklisting before I make my mind up on this one. Yes, its a great idea, and could be fantastic for the scene, I'm just dissapointed about the DJs. Don't get me wrong, Hixxy, Breeze and Styles are wikkid DJs and work fantastically hard..... I think the comparison with Britney Spears is a valid one though. Hixxy, Breeze and Styles are everywhere. Every single compilation out seems to be mixed by them. Hopefully this CD is going to be different from the other compilations they feature on which I am sure there are another 2 at least destined for release around the same time. I'm sure that its certainly gonna be great for them short term, but how long will it be before people start getting bored of the current Raverbaby sound?

Matthew aka DJ Underloop
dj_sidewinder Underloop i like your views they remind me of the days of 1998 when the same things where getting said about Hardcore it was being commercilised.Slowly but surely the scene started to fade away. There is a saying which goes "to much of a good thing can be bad".Make your own minds up on that 1 but for me to many compilations coming out at the same time with more or less the same DJ's on them cant be good in the long term.

Mixing up a storm on the wheels of steel.
Underloop Sorry, please don't get me wrong. I don't think hardcore will fade away like it did at the end of the last decade. I just think that the Raverbaby sound could end up getting a bit too much exposure. So far H, B&S have always managed to pull something interesting out of the hat whenever I have started to drift away from the sound, but I'm just concerned about how much longer they can keep it up, and they are constantly getting more and more exposure. I mean hats off to them for everything they have done. They are without doubt the biggest DJs in the scene right now, but I guess its a fine line when your up there at the top.

of course i would wait for the track listing that would probably change my mind about getting it, but im just saying that lately there has been too much commercial stuff coming from breeze & styles. fair enough they get money and exposure for it but they should know when to give it a rest for a while.

Six days on the run, Looking for a place to have some fun.....
SixFeet exposure is a good thing, more people into hardcore means more DJ's, producers etc which makes the scene more diverse and also more competition which in turn makes all the Dj's, producers etc try to step up a gear, hey who knows, with exposure there could be the next brisk, ham, scott brown out there who hasn't discovered hardcore yet

or maybe i am an optimist but the only way i see it is for good, unless it becomes really commericial

'Feel your pulse beat in unison with the music, this is hardcore baby!'
mj-dream i think every single person who has made a comment on ere has had a good point to make one way or the other but there might not be any outcome from this good or bad it could all stay as it is look at the ministry of sound label inspired.releasing original hardcore that dint hurt tha scene and that had loadsa advertising i seen a commercial every ten mins for this cd.just wait n c eh?

In my experience thats a quick and cheap store, that has a friendly customer service. The store is located in US, so postage shouldnt be that big either.

But their all sold out from there ATM, they should get more soon though.
Loz_e 'to much of a good thing can be bad'

that sums this whole topic up really!

'it shouldnt happen to a raver'
gobbo23 1. Wait for tracklisting
2. Remember the cd WILL NOT be targeting people who already listen to hardcore, the chances are that it will be their usual stuff because its what they do best and its what has got them to this point

Ste Non-Stop I think this is a good idea..!! There scene must b thrive'n or else AATW wouldnt put up the money and publish this compilation..!!
And just because all the other clubland c.d's have the reputation 4 bein cheesy, doesnt mean the hardcore 1 will follow suit.. Hardcore's hardcore, any1 who luv's this music will not b dissapointed imo

It's a MAD MAD world..!!!
happie2bgabcoreZy9 i hope Friday night posse do a hardcore remix

mj-dream fnp? no way that wud a bad thing we dnt want to invent happy popcore do we

mj-dream remember the name im here for fame
syanide Im sorry to say it but i really really think all this exposure is very under. People are gunna watch this hardcore heaven advert and buy it. It's gunna be a fookin stomper of an album and every1 hu buys it will realize how phat hardcore is....good for the scene but i sorta like the fact that hardcore isnt mainstream. Hardcore is best underground.

Im not 2 botherd about clubland because it rly isnt hardcore at all imo. if they mixed actuall hardcore tunes on there it wuld be...very distresing?.

Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least they're the scenic route. . .
jenks syanide have you actually read this thread? AATW are making a *hardcore* compilation of CD's, what did think the cd would have on it? bare in mind it is goin to be called 'Clubland Extreme Hardcore'!

syanide oh dear

Drugs may be the road to nowhere, but at least they're the scenic route. . .
DJ Mouse mixed views on this. have b+s on a cd and it will sell, simple as. if the cd is anything like when they were on bonkers i will not be happy, when everything sounded far too the same. and lets be honest, they dont exactly cover a wide variety of hardcore now do they. maybe throw another dj in there like brisk?

but on a plus note, some of the tunes coming out on raver baby lately are absolutely mindlowing!!

i aint gonna comment any more on this until i've had a listen or at least seen the track list, but i'm not exactly optimistic at the moment

Mr Raver Well if clubland think they can release a Hardcore CD then good luck to em, and hopefully it will be a good contribution to the Hardcore scene!

Rave On!!!
SixFeet B&S and hixxy all play the same stuff, the trancecore kind of stuff which is the stuff i originally liked in it when i made the jump from trance to hardcore, although i still like it i prefer the more freeform style stuff which i never would have found if it wasn't for the tramcecore which people will find alot easier to stomach to begin with than other harder versions of hardcore before they widen there spectrum of hardcore, it will bring alot of people into the hardcore scene whether it is a good album or not just because of B&S and hixxy doing the cd's

Hopefully this album will do the same as this for a lot of other people - then everyone in the scene will benefit.

Brisk? AATW is a Eurotrance / Eurodance label, Brisk doesnt play much of the style they cover. Breeze, Styles and Hixxy all play very Euroish type of Hardcore -> the type of dance music AATW likes to release. Lets hope that Brisk mixes a CD on Bonkers 14 :)

Loz_e whispering....who do u fink will be the 4th dj????? brisk?seduction?gammer??

'it shouldnt happen to a raver'
DJ Mouse what i mean whispering is that it will send out the wrong idea about hardcore, people are going to buy this and think that's all there is to it,and that's how it all sounds. hence why i say throw another dj in there to show there's more to hardcore than breeze and styles

xx_lucy_xx I hope its actuall hardcore not just dance speeded up trying to be sold as hardcore.

xxxx

*you either love me or wana F*K me*
DJ Mouse it's more than likely going to be breeze and syles every second track, one or 2 modern mixes of older tracks already ripped by scouse house,at about 150 bpm - way slower than usual.

thats what i reckon, but lets wait for the tracklist

Eumovater tbh i think it will be good :) i mean i have friends who like happy dance music and trance is what they listen to, sum of em aint even HEARD of hardcore to start off with, i have to tell em about it. ive already converted one of me best mates to hardcore, she loves it now and we plan on goin to the HH weekender in may, which i cant wait for! i think at the end of the day its all down to the producers to decide where the scene goes. if this AATW release is very successful its up to the producers and djs to not get sidetracked by the thought of *money* and *publicity* and to stay faithful to the style as it is at the mo. if they started creatin tunes simply to publicise themselves, the music will go downhill for sure

While i completely agree with you, i still dont see why they should throw another DJ there. Because, i think, AATW should try to please their fans, the people that buy their CD's. I mean you dont see e.g. 100% Nu Energy having Raverbaby tracks for the same reason.

I'm hoping that the people that really like that CD, will go and buy another Hardcore compilation, try to get more into the scene and find what our wonderful genre has to offer :)

dj_sidewinder To be honest i think the only reason this is coming out is that there last to compilations sucked big time.Clubland 6 same old stuff, Clubland scotland just embarressing. So to win back there fans they are releasing a hardcore cd.Which made me think if they win back there fans with hixxy, breeze & styles. Then maybe they will go on to buy bonkers.Which like i said before is good for short term.

Triquatra i see what you guys are saying but you could look at it this way.
people who buy clubland, are after cheesy boop boop la la doo doo fun happy bounce cheese dance.
most will like the hardcore that will be put on it

if AATW put freeform, gabber and breakbeat on it - it wouldnt be a clubland cd - and everyone who had bought it (expecting another clubland dance cd) would be put off hardcore even more, because thats not the style of dance that Clubland promotes - and not the reason they buy it.

one way or another, its definatly going to put hardcore on the map for thousands of kids - who will grow up to be part of the scene.
SixFeet also putting gabber, breakbeat and that on is like throwing a kid in the deep end of a pool that can't swim, you gotta wein them onto the harder stuff, patience is a virute, young grasshopper

'Feel your pulse beat in unison with the music, this is hardcore baby!'
mj-dream agree with sixfeet.i hated mcs trancecore(now freeform) i only thought of even listening 2 anyone except vibes n scott brown was crap.now every single sub genre in hardcore i think is fantastic it jus takes time.i love mcs too lol

mj-dream remember the name im here for fame
Triquatra exactly what i was trying to get at sixfeet lol but you did it in two lines - i salute you :P
SixFeet analogies are a wondeful thing aren't they
