he played a few tracks i like, but overall raver baby is a very trancey label. oh yea, and he played some trance tune on 33 in his trance set, then the same track on 45 in his hardcore set..

i wouldn't call it trancecore at all but it is cef that trancier side of happycore. if you go to breeze's site and listen to his tunes they are very much just that '99 style of cheesy trance sped up - very unfortunate IMO. RBs and JBs are extremely trancey, i don't think it's bad as long as we still have variety of other styles too.
drugs is not the answer... drugs? is the question... yes is the answer |

I just wouldnt play all trancey shit. Get a few of the best and only play them.
I play some spanish, some ruffneck/artcore, some happy and some oldskool happy breaks in my sets to keep the variety going. Its the only way to go

The way some ppl act 2wards the raverbaby stuff you would fink that is the only hardcore gettin made now. The truth is there is loads of diff hardcore gettin made at the moment and the raverbaby stuff is selling very well.

Raver baby is wkd and id call it happyhardcore (Although its moved on a lot since the early 90s). Anyway no-one seems to be able to defy "TranceCore".

Erm don't you mean 'define' :P
It's only realy Hixxy, UFO, Dougal & Breeze that are releasing trancy stuff. Brisk, Fade & Ham are still realeasing proper Hardcore, as are Blaze. There are also all the new releases on HectTech & Masterwax.

thank goodness for all the other labels pushing non-trancy stuff, otherwise i'd have to spin hard house/nu style =P
*still looking forward to the first raw elements release* =9

I like sum of the rb/jb stuff now ive listened to it quite abit, especially the breeze and styles stuff but its just not the same as hearing a tune like eyeopener or shooting star etc etc etc , in my opinion it aint got the excitement that the older hardcore had, i do prefer the stuff off labels like masterwax, evolution etc . I think hixxys sets have got better than they were mid 1999.
Like a bolt of lightning it's so frightning..Get ur brain now we're igniting |

erh i fink most ppls sets in 99 were the worst ever. that woz the dark times in hardcore where everyfing woz shit.
Dougal is making some trancy hardcore but very little. hes sets are gettin more and more cheesy again. most of the stuff in his new label are not trancy.
As long as we have diffrent hardcore coming out hardcore will cont top grow bigger and better.
I must admit we do need more breaks and cheesy not trancy cheese but hard cheese stuff. Elation, Raw elements, Hettech, KF ect are bringing back breaks and demo is finking about starting up again which will be a big bonus.
ya really must stop fearing hardcore turning into trance coz its not. its just exspanding in all diffrent styles. this is a good time for the music we love
o yeah and fade has done loads of trancy hardcore

If you mean the stuff Fade did with Brisk on Next Gen then, nearly all of them are rips.

*wishes fadey would go back to producing some of those super cheesy bouncey numbers* not that i think he's current productions are bad; i've currently been canning the hell out of changing everyday, but i just miss the old silly stuff =)

Well, to be honest yes alot of them are based on other tunes, but all of us in the Next Gen camp thought the originals would make good hardcore..... (I'm not going to start a new rips / covers discussion !!!), I just make tracks that I know people will have a good time dancing to, and that sell at the end of the day.
There is alot of original stuff on the way as well, just working on some new stuff as we speak,...... Dunno about super cheesy though.....
There will still be a few cheeky samples used here and there, but doesn't everyone ?? (Look at Basement Jaxx for example, every single tune they have ever done has used major samples of other tunes...)
Watch this space...

In most popular genres of techno here in Sydney there are trance elements. It seems to be a common element in most of what I listen. Happyhardcore is not overly trancey, although I only have heard one RB and one JB. But even if they are trancey, one should not make comment on the whole industry just based on two record labels. There is enough diversity in the happyhard genre to keep it alive.
