I don't mind it but the Bonkers 1-7 cover art was a lot better imo they cartooned the dj's up which I liked. The way they gave Sharkey stupidly huge looking ears :)

I like the cover but I'd still have the animation on the word BONKERS the same as they've always been. I thought after 8 that that would have been the case. But its not too bad really, Wont stop me buying it just coz of the cover! Its the music really isnt it!

ive found it funny reading through the posts, and the difference in attitude between ush and here, the ush lot seem to accept it but here you seem to shun it abit, i quite like it, but think some things are funny on the cover such as scott browns monicle (like an old fart type of thing) and sharkeys big ears, can you spot any more?
hixxys cap seems a little out of place to me

I think its a great cover, though the X-men link is a bit tacky & unoriginal, however it seems to represent the movement away from bouncy happy hardcore to todays more trancey style along with the (relative & necessary IMO) commercialisation of the genre.
I will shed a tear for the old style HHC (DJ Vibes style etc) when this is released though the future does look bright.

I personally like the cover - IMO better than the last. Plenty more colour and a fresh new look means its more eye grabbing on a shop shelf. But whos gonna be looking at the cover once its in your CD player?

Exactly! Its the music that matters not the cover! When you buy a tape pack, do you buy the pack because of the cover or because of what it is?

I agree again Simon. He's already released a gabber album in the past month. Lets hope he keeps it hardcore on Bonkers. He's got enought of it flying around at the minute. If you havent listened to the new Slammin Vinyl tape pack, get it for the first 40minits of his mix (then it goes gabber). Its a great mix with some great tunes including the remix of "you're shining". NICE!

I think it is to stand out more on the shelves aas was said by others. LAst Bonkers was commercialised a lot more than before and now they are opting for it again. Oh well "you dont judge a book by its cover"

I agree that the name 'Hardcore Mutation' is a bit daft. Just Bonkers 9 would have done fine. If you replace the new style of lettering for the word Bonkers with the old one and take away Hardcore Mutation from the fron you've got a completely different cover. Im sure all of you would find that more apropriate!

I actually don't own any Bonker's CD's but I don't buy CD's for the look... when it's playing on my CD player I don't sit there and think
"wow this CD sounds crap just look at that cover art" ... who really cares what it looks like... you don't listen to the cover.

The cover matters because it will affect wether people will buy it who don't know what Bonkers is.
I like the title Hardcore mutation cause its kinda apt. Hardcore has changed.
And what's wrong with Scott Brown doing a bit of Gabber on it? Sharkey does Freeform! And its supposed to reflect the full spectrum of Hardcore and at the moment Gabber is part of that.
