djDMS I realise this topic could go spectacularly wrong but i was hoping we could all mention 2 or 3 hardcore tunes that we feel either might have slipped through the net or not got the recognition they deserved.

Don't have to be particularly recent or even that obscure, just tracks that we feel should be heard by an audience that might never have known about them.

I'll start with a couple (somebody please feel free to post clips or vids if you know where to find them).

Invader - Enraptured soulz - always has been and always will be one of my favourite 'modern' hardcore tunes. Just has everything!

Adam J - Ultraviolence - made a massive impact on me first time i heard it, still sounds great now.

Over to you boys and girls...
redwingz Ok so Im probably a bit biased as Im going to say an NSR track but for me:

X-Cyte - Final Flight (Bondy Remix)

This track needs to be on a compilation where it belongs :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2pu3HnLilM
(dunno how to embed but theres the link)

From other labels I would say:

EnVias - Submersion
Cynix - Save You
latininxtc Pussy Lovers by The Omen!

i've never heard anyone mention it, and it is just a fun tune! it's by Go Mental Dark
tru bass

i find it hard not to cream myself when i hear this song..

ps, i dont care that it isn't hardcore its ****ing perfect

You put the string of characters after the ?v= part (which, in this case, it would be b2pu3HnLilM) between [youtube.][./youtube] tags (remove the periods).

Which results in this:

warped_candykid Dont know the exposure status of this track, but I stumbled across it and I thought it was a nice, bouncy track!

PJ Makina-"In The Morning"
http://clips.imodownload.com/3FRMAT/PJ_Makina_In_The_Morning_IMOSAMPLE.mp3
Samination i presume since it's only sold on IMOdownload's makina section, it's very unheard of... but if it's good? i doubt.

Not much on IMO's makina section is good. It only has british makina
Brian K new wave - dream of heaven
jon doe feat tekneek - break neck
adam harris - the future
futureworld - chemical love (breakbeat mix)
Smoogie

snerkler Don't know how many of you will have heard of these, but I was out raving at the time and never heard them played in a set.

Undercover Elephant - New Style - Bogwoppa Records
Justin Time - Better and Better - Just Another Label
GSI - Twister - Krafty Recordings http://www.mediafire.com/file/egztummdyye/twister%20clip.mp3
whispering Imperial Forces feat Kristy "This New World"
Imperial Forces "Above the World"

Oh the days when hardcore was still good.

Edit: ...and a newer track Soundscape "Someday Soon", awesome song which i don't think ever got the recognition it deserved.

sample thats in it

its one of those JT tracks though thats got this wonderful salty then sweet parts - like Burn This Joint
the contrast between the bounce happy..and then breaking into the darker breakdown with donna singing "higher and higher" love it

twister was on bonkers 2 though..so i think a few will know that one ;)

I imagine he does. And correct usage would be is.

Man, is it just me or has Vagabond gone down on the quality scale lately? Literally 95% of the tunes he pumped out on BB were amazing, under any of his aliases. Lately though... well, they're good, but they just don't feel special any more.

it's just that it's not stated anywhere that imperial forces = vagabond. But if you listen to the sound (and the use of the vocalist Kristy), you know :P

Arent those moxed/CD-edits? i got mine on a CD sampler, mine are 6 minutes long atleast

So you mean that's the only track on the unmixed CD that fades out after 5:30?

on my vinyls, these fades out (all at ~5:30):

NOIZE 004
Ain't Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now
Rainmaker

NOIZE 005
Far Away
(5am)

5 am is too short to fade out at 5:30 like the 3 other tracks

http://www.samination.se/records/label/38/Nuffin+but+NOIZE I got 5 records (one being CD)
Triquatra i can check when i get home :)
as far as i remember - all the tracks on the 2nd cd (the unmixed one) are identical to the vinyl versions i own...

As far as i can remember, it was first released by Sony and then by Highborn.

Acording to Discogs the other is a UK and the other US release.

That's honestly the only version i've ever heard so i thought it was the version everyone knew, either way one of Breeze & Styles' best tunes.

Anyway there is so many good tunes that aren't so common for some reason but really should be. From the top of my head here is a few:

Vibena - Closer To Your Dreams
Jon Doe - Nothing Like Hip Hop
DJ Energy - Hardcore Fever (Fade & Bananaman/Jhal Remix), so much better than the original it's not even funny, although i'm the only person who seems to think so.

Been a while since I listened to these on vinyl, they're collecting dust on my shelf.
Senti la Passione doesn't fade and does indeed have very nice piano at the end.
Far and Away and Ain't nothin gonna stop us now both do fade if my memory serves me right. Heart of Africa doesn't fade.

My copies of the above mentioned tracks are all excellent sound quality on my vinyl
Triquatra samination is picky - if it hasnt been exported straight from cubase at better than full quality - his ears start bleeding ;)

Haha. I actually prefer to hear the odd crackle here and there, makes it sound more authentic. But then I am oldschool ;-)

I do have some really bad quality vinyl though, like Always in my Dreams and Life Force Generator Part 2. They're all slightly muffled yet distorted :-(

Actually Life Force Generator part 2 and the b-side higher and higher should be mentioned as lesser known tunes everybody should hear. Both are really good tracks imo
Hard2Get I have Always In My Dreams; and it is very grainy (the vocal being the worst effected part) compared to other vinyl's but it's still very loud so i like it. I actually like the ruggedness of it lol.
Samination Im not that picky... am I? :P
Well, If I can get it on CD or digital, I prefer those over Vinyl... anyways... Dain-Ja, unless you can state facts, stfu.

Bastard!

Dain: only had 2 sets b2b with bluecore on the station, none of my tracks where v-rips, unless Eyeopener (bought on imodownload) was one.

One more track I would like to mentioned that's propably still lesser known, but an old track from Keatrix freak, Twisted Freq is "Level 13 - Exaltation". His very best imo

OK well the sets you posted here then, either way it was somehow related to this site
Considering your history as the leader of a vinyl ripping group, it's kinda hard to deny that you play crappy vinyl rips

ooh, a bit pricey but if it's a record you really want then it's worth it. Is the Thumper version the same as on the Battle of The DJ samplers? I have that one and it's an amazing tune

Hard2Get 1000 isn't really that limited. All the KFA's are or were limited to 800 pressings. Etc...
If something was limited to 200 pressings then that would be something i'd consider worth anything as a result.

Triquatra its a bit pricey yeah - but ive payed more for vinyl before

Digger - Episode One (Church of Ra/nanukai) is probably one of my more prised records

i payed £40 for that and ive seen it go for £70+ before on ebay
im wanting to check on discogs - but as usual the sites going fast..then slow..then not loading
lol

each to their own, personally i think it was worth the money, and if its not now, im sure it will eventually be a more sort after track, when copys are selling at £50 im quite happy to have gotten it for £25

I always say a record is always worth what you are willing to pay for it. If you're happy to pay £25, £50, or £100 etc for a record then it's worth it to you.

I never buy a record as an investment though, I buy it because I want it.

the fact that some of the pieces i have bought are worth something is a nice bonus!

Reese - August 2006 mix (every tune of his on there.)

Oh also Paul Manx - Higher State (Matt Envy and Frooty Remix?), its the one that was on that free album.

Paul Manx (or i should say JB Recordings) has loads of incredible tunes that just gush with euphoria, like ...

well all this:

http://www.imodownload.com/JB-Recordings so much ch00nage its ridiculous.

thats it for now.

You are right, but maybe in the near future...hm...nope :P
The tune was played in one of his mixes and I got the track ID from a forum where the tracks of the mix were listed. So I thought he speeded up the track (at least) and added his name to it. ;)

Mortis

^^ Never got played because the A side was so great.

^^ The remix was far more popular.

^^ Criminally underplayed, I've no idea why this tune never got the recognition it deserves.

^^ Played far too fast, the proper speed has far more feeling to it.

^^ Gotta love it.

Vinylgroover - Children of the Night

DJ Shimamura The Greentrain

I could go on for days with this list.

HTID is on COH4 CD one nah it wasn't Haze's choon it was Antix, Tom-E and Destiny who produced it.

The In-Effect mix is the best IMO.

Hirschi @Mortis
Thanks for the link to "Dougal & Innovate - Invincible"! Great stuff! ;) Your Love, Morris Call and Tranquility are well known to me :P

Hard2Get Remix of Tranquility more popular? Are you sure lol. Anyway the original is amazing but i would never consider it a lesser known tune because it's on Bonkers 3, meaning pretty much everyone has heard it.

It was pretty rare but since everything can be bought on discogs for a pound it probably has little value now, or at least isn't difficult to get but who knows. I'm just going by every other tune out there that was once rareish.

Indeed, I had to search long and hard to hear the remix, love them both! :)

Big up on the Hardcore Bashment one, definetely never given it's props, actually one of the few vinyls I had. :P

Here's one I've only ever heard played once and never seen mentioned but it's an absolutely epic tune:

Triple J - Dynamite.

It's actually released under the name 'Becks & Donna' (and just Becks for the remix), and Triple J did a remix. Either way amazing tune, in fact I'm pretty sure i only heard it because of you lol.
Mortis I love Dynamite. Such an underplayed tune too.

Has to be the remix though! I guess it's under played because it wouldn't fit all that well in most sets. It's not a very 'ravey' tune (the same thing that makes it good thought).

Yeah, it's number 1 on the first one (not sure if it's the original because I don't have the album) and the remix is number 2 on the second one
Mortis A few more:

This track is awesome, and up for free download. 1st time I heard this style of music (Psycore) and a really different and hectic track. This guy also has a few more Psycore tracks on his Soundcloud account so definately worth checking out if you want to hear something different.

Samination rofl, psycore? did you just make that word up?

Psytrance isnt limited to just 140bpm you know

I would agree, and the term Psycore is just ridiculous. But it is more Hardcore than it is Psytrance. It is almost 50:50 but slightly more Hardcore.
stray I didn't make the word up, it's what the guy that made the track labelled it as. Have a listen to his other stuff too, it's a good mix of psytrance elements but at the speed of hardcore. Definately something different, maybe not for everyone but I really dig it.
Hard2Get Lol i wasn't suggesting you did.
stray I wasn't suggesting you were suggesting I did (how far can this go?). Was refering to the post before you.
Hard2Get Lol, i see. It can go on for a long time but I'd rather not find out.
acidfluxxbass I think there's more psy than there is core. 60:40
Samination i consider it more rave than core :P

Going on the sound of it alone i would agree, but it's the general feel of things that lead to my conclusion.
Quicksilver I don't remember if I've replied to this thread already but here are some lesser known awesome tunes:

Adam L - Be With You (Flyin' & Oli G Remix)
JAKAZiD Feat. Taya - Private Universe
Michael Mansion - There 4 Me (Kurt Remix)

:D

hah same here but still a decent track
stray I think it depends on your definition of hardcore. I consider it as much hardcore as freeform is. If comparing it to UK hardcore the 60:40 is probably generous, I'd say more 80:20 Psy:core. I find the track works really well to go from dark acidy freeform (like Lost Soul style) into some Gabber. I suppose it's all a matter of opinion though.

I included this in a mix recently. Depends if you like the Robbie Williams original or not, I guess, but blimey the crescendo for the final chorus is absolutely huge!

Mike Vapour - Angels.

The CLSM remix of that is actually really good! In theory such a remix should just never work but it really does.

Excuse the bad sound quality.

Yeah that is also very, very powerful indeed. I'd forgotten about that version.

Maggers Just found a CD with the CLSM version on it recently. So much good music in that era.

What CD is that, Margaret? Is it worth getting. I'm looking to bolster my CD collection.

Maggers It was just from CLSM store - it may have even been a cd I burned after downloading the track, I can't remember atm.

If you don't have it already CLSM's Hardcore Material was excellent. I have an Elation CD kicking around somewhere too. And another favorite was a Japanera CD from Luna-C in 2003. However, most of my cds from back then were in the form of mix tapes, and lots of cheesy hardcore.
