Was pay day today, so i bought a load of stuff I've been going to buy: The original Buff (storm version), 2 pears of slippers (Black bear and Polar bear, was going to go with Heff style and get bunny slippers, but they didn't have my size :( ), Nonni and Manni DVD set (Icelandic TV series from the 80's, nostalgic stuff from my childhood) and some nicotine liquid for my ecig (strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and menthol).
After i get my tax returns in Friday, ill go with some computer stuff.

Today I was noticed that I will receive an almost doubled wage for this month as an extra bonus (it's christmas time). I forgot to order 2 cd's this month, and with this kind of boost I will go on a shopping tour.
HU 5 and HA 5 will be "must haves", but first I need to think about christmas presents for my two nephews.

Bit skeptic TBH, since AFAIK its going to be the shitty new stuff (never bought anything from the label before though). But theres a few Ionosphere tunes to which I'm holding all my hopes at. Plus with those prices it isn't really a big loss either way.

My travelling money has finally come to an end, pretty much. Consequently haven't really been buying much. Been buying the odd tune/batch of tunes - but they don't really cost too much. The last tune I purchased was a few days ago, which was Penguin Conspiracy's Escape. EPIC track. Hadn't realised it was available individually (outside the Electronic Exposed albums). Was well chuffed.

unless you want to play games on multiple screen, is it really worth it for a graphic card past 200? I generally buy what's classed as "above average" and i can run the games that are out and later games on High (atleast this computer I have now can).

Bought a new GPU Asus GTX550 Ti, last one didn't have that stupid copyright thing that lets you play FullHD video on my projector. Also it didn't have enough memory for Civilization 5 :P
Got myself Resident Evil Revelations a few weeks ago, breezed through the story mode, but Raid mode is really addicting. Picked up Mario Kart 7 last week too, but I haven't played it much, mainly because I keep disconnecting from online whenever I play it.

I love RE:R, great game. I think I've played Raid mode for longer than the main story lasted. :P It's a shame that the hardest mode in the story has to be unlocked though, I prefer to play on the hardest setting in my first play through. Mario Kart is still on the list! 3DS wise I'm playing through OOT again at the moment. I've just got the last coin on Mario 3D land so that's 100% now.

Bought new shoes. I'm the kinda guy that wears the same pair throughout the years untill they break, so last spring got some really expensive ones from a good brand (apparently makes shoes for British army and all), after 2 months the back cushions dropped. They didn't replace them, so filed an official complaint against the importer. 9 months and still waiting for the results. SO, now bought another pair from the same awesome company that made my previous pair that has lasted about 5 years, got Asics Gel Odyssey. I'm expecting these babies to last through a nuclear holocaust.
Also got a new jacket, 2 years with a winter jacket that has only 1 layer of fabric and i cant wear regular winter jackets anymore. No matter if its -20 C outside.
Also ordered 4 Korean DVD's. Spring Breeze, Save The Green Planet, Sad Movie and Sunny, if anyones interested.

I used to be the same way, just 1 nice pair of shoes then 2 casual shoes. after 2 1/2 years of working at Macy's I amassed a collection of shoes that was almost 40 lol. Time to sell some of these off.
And for the most part guys are creatures of habit. When it comes to clothing most of us don't bother with trying many new brands we usually like to stick to the same ones over and over again. Personally it's a good thing you went back to your old brand if they're still making quality shoes there's no reason to try something new.
Also just came from Super Target bought an envelope to mail something, 2 boxes of cereal, toothpaste, and a couple stove-top items such as instant pasta and a hamburger helper-like thing from Kraft.

Bought some posters.

Lumia 900 is an almost direct copy of the N9 (with the addition of the camera button and windows buttons). I've only quickly skimmed the Windows OS, so don't know how it is on a daily use. I really liked the look of the N9, was a little gutted when i found out i wouldn't be able to get one. Saying that though, i'm expecting there to be something from Nokia worth having by the end of the year when my contract is up.
As for my purchases, loads of hardcore tunes i bought for no other reason than i can(!), and lots of Smiley face related paraphernalia to give away during my appearance at Stomp! in Leeds on the 20th.
Next big purchase will probably be a bike of some kind. Managed to lose a bit of weight this past few months so want to do something to help with that and fitness too.

I didn't find much about the cancellation, except that ABC in US only took it in in the last minute, so they didn't have time for advertising. And because it was so late, they couldn't go to e.g. Scifi Channel anymore.
Did read the wikipedia article for it, and the 'what would have happened' the next morning (the Nadia part made me think of you :P). Would have been an awesome ride. Though i was also glad the first season didn't end in a huge cliffhanger and got some closure.
The thing is, i only found out about the series on Amazon's recommendations. I love scifi, especially space scifi, so i get all exited whenever theres a new series on the line. But didn't hear about this anywhere. After watching it, would have thought there would be monuments built for it.

I don't consider Atlantis to be "canceled". They were supposed to end the story with a movie/s. I think it was the writers strike that first pushed it off. SGU on the other hand was completely in the middle of everything. The saddest part with SGU was that even many of the fans of stargate AND scifi were against it. Way to burn your house down.

Nice. Has a bit of a rococco feel to it. I would love a print of Georges seurat "Sunday afternoon at la Grande jatte." Saw a study of it on am exhibition here in Houston, and there's even a mural of it on a store's wall near my house.

Everything that's not Final Fantasy or Tales of Series are never really marketed. Well considering alot of other J-RPG contain alot of japanese humor (which I guess only otakus understand), I kinda agree why westerners doesn't like them that much.
Oh well, will probably pre-order the japanese version of Ys for the VITA

Star Ocean is actually reasonably big in the UK (for a JRPG), it's just one of them series I never bothered with. I agree though, most of them fly under the radar here along with most anime/manga or anything that isn't from America/UK really. :P
I'll probably pick up a Vita eventually and grab that. Got my sights set on a PS3 next though for Graces and Xillia. It's so annoying that all the JRPG's that do get released here are spread out on different consoles. :'(. If they released them all on PC it would be so much easier!!

bluray players are harder to remove regions from. And those can be done (atleast 1 year ago) costs way to much
my LG blu ray player..just punched in the code....and now its multiregion
works with my foreign dvds (north american), I don't have any foreign blu rays to try though

TBH, BD players are much worse then DVD players. So i've kept my old region free Sony for DVD's. And only use the BD players for BD movies. The one i bought was BD-D5500.

First time there? and which on cali or FL disney? I've only been to FL disney myself and it's been over 10 years too. Would like to go back but instead I'm now focusing on seeing more of the rest of the world. Original plans for next year were to fly to Peru and hike the Inca Trail all the way up to Machu Picchu, but my cousin and I might be doing one of those Groupon/Livingsocial trip deals.
Oh and later today I'll be buying tickets to see the Titanic exhibit or the Terra Cotta Warriors exhibit, or maybe both.

Florida disney was really the first taste of America I got when I moved there, looking back I wish I was more lucid. I was 18 years old and my mind wasn't in a great place having recently lost my dad to a heart attack..then with the heat, humidity, moving from one country to the next (literally a country I never ever thought I'd find myself living as a result my mind was a complete wreck!

nah, been to disney world several times. probably one of my favorite places to go (always makes me feel like a kid again). we are taking the whole family and it will be my youngest ones first time there...not sure if I'm more excited to go or see his reaction to seeing mickey for the first time =P

Black mesa? alot of fun! finished it now and have a crack at unlocking some of the achievements - there are lots of easter eggs in the game which add a comical edge (though I wonder how many outside of the UK know who the chuckle brothers are)

Well The Wii U is really great. Had friends over after a party on the weekend and we played for hours! Had to do a system update right out the box but only took about 30mins and I've got pretty slow broadband. Loving being able to wander round the house with the pad and play games in another room while chatting to the mrs or whatever. Menu is a little slow right now but I guess that'll be streamlined in future updates.

Good work. The kids (and you ;)) should be very happy with it. We don't get Tvii until sometime in 2013 in the UK but it looks amazing.
I've got a 32GB version as well tbh and I'd just rather have that even though you can just fit an external drive. Nontendoland is pretty fun with friends so it's a good deal IMO. :) Not to mention that black looks better haha.

First was Andromeda, watch 3 seasons, then bought the complete series DVD set. Just plain awesome scifi, one of the best series there is. Still on the last season. But while i was waiting for the DVD set, watched the first 10 or so episodes of Star Trek (original series), which was a lot better then i expected, so just bought the complete series Blu-Ray set.
Also got a few Korean debut mini albums, ones from Yoari and 2yoon.
Test Of Time is one of the most epic Hardcore tunes.

It absolutely makes sense for 2D texture / 3D modelling programs or writing large papers but browsing with 2 screens is just strange for me atm. haha

I remember buying tracks from I think Australia With Force from TID with the same ID3 tag. But like a few have mentioned before I always redo my ID3 tag so it didn't really bother me that much.
At least you can change the ID3 tag and have it appear correctly when looking through it with right clicking and hitting properties. I have an issue with some beatport tracks that I have no problem changing the ID3 tags with a program yet that program is the only place where the info appears.

Wow what a find! I remember I used to run into a lot of HighBorn albums at the local stores here in Houston years back. They were mostly in the used section, but they were in extremely good condition.

TBH, i dont think theres a backpack that didn't do that. I currently have Fjallraven Kanken backpack (swedish brand that are really popular here), but the zippers have failed.
Need to go to construction sites where helmets (among other stuff) are mandatory, so thought it was great to get a backpack that has a separate helmet holder.

I had about $150 US Amazon credit to spend so finally got around to replacing the loss of my previously sold PS3's Blu Ray player with a Blu Ray player with wi-fi. Also ordered an HDMI cable because apparently Blu Ray and DVD players no longer come with cords that attach themselves to a TV.
Also got a pair of Symphonized in-ear headphones. I don't normally buy headphones as much as $25 but I had the credit and they were rated to be good quality.

I bought HU DJ Tools Vol.2 and 3 last weekend, so it'll be exciting to listen to them once they arrive (and clear through customs).
Speaking of customs, I ordered Hardcore Underground 6 and CLSM: Return to the Unexpected a few weeks ago, and they've arrived at the post office. All I need to do now is pay the customs fees and I'll have them in my possession :D

it was about $17 (duty and sales tax - nova scotia charges 15% sales tax)
not too bad though, but i certainly will be excited when the Canada-EU FTA kicks in xD

I've actually also been looking to buy a new display, and been specifically looking the 30ish inch size range. With anything from Full hd to 4k resolution. Was that one any good you bought? I'm kinda iffy on the 4k ones, as far as i know they use cheap panels to get the price down, so the image quality is not as good.

Yeah definitely worth checking out, there will be another next year too. Loads of content and doesn't cost much.
I'm really happy with the BenQ actually yeah. Picture is fantastic and it's a quality product. The stand and base are metal too, they've used some real decent materials.

Just waiting for it all the arrive now so I can get building, can't wait. Monitor is here and it's a total beast! I'm just going to use W8. I don't love the metro feel but I've had no probs with 8 on my laptop and I'd rather keep things as up to date as possible.
The case is a monster haha. I thought I'd go big as the H100i needs some serious space and I'll be ordering a second 980 in a month or so. Cooling is great by the looks of the reviews I've read.

Yeah I had heard something along those lines, no idea if it's actually happening! At the very least it'll hopefully be a cheap upgrade or something.

Our eldest is having his 6th birthday in about a month, and I thought it'd be cool to buy him his first ever piece of vinyl.
So he's getting "The Prodigy - Fire" as both our boy's keep demanding it on the school run in the car!
along with that I ordered a couple of pieces to take advantage of the cheap postage from the discogs seller.

I just bought an entry level SLR. It's a Nikon D3200, with an 18-55mm VR II Lens (I don't know what that means).
I plan on using it to take ultra crisp photos of people PWOPA fcuked up at HTID ITS.

I bought a new car. I bloody hate cars. It cost a stupid amount of money, and I'm not saying that as in "ooo look at me spending so much on a car" because I would consider ?200 spent on a car too much, I hate the things...to me they're like bills, because that's all I see them as.
Some people enjoy sticking some new piece of junk in their engine like I would enjoy putting a new cd on my cd shelf. But ****, our last car just kept breaking, and I kept having to feed it cash. It was like buying a new mug, and seconds later watching it smash on the floor, walking back in and buying the same damn mug, and the same thing happening...over and over and over.
If it was a new cd on my shelf, great, but I don't like sticking money in a car. Sticking money in a car to me, might as well just be burning it.
The car we had before kept taking my money, the car we had before that kept taking my money also, this new car is new, or at least very close to new, and it's not a Peugeot or a Renault so hopefully it won't be a gold-digging troll.
I'd ****happily*** live without a car, but my wife is disabled, I have two kids and I don't live on an island...
The only way you would ever be able to survive without a car is if you lived in the city instead of the middle of nowhere. Once you are out in the country, a car is a necessity. Or in your case, living with someone with a disability that relying on public transportation would not be very convenient. I hate cars as well, and because I have a slight fear of driving I've never learned how to drive one. I manage to do fine without it, but our public transportation sucks so bad I actually wish I lived closer to the center, or in a city like Toronto who has far better public transportation.

This depends highly on the country, but IMHO car is never a necessity for healthy people. If you live in the middle of nowhere, worse case is you need a bicycle to get to the bus stop. Taxies are there for when you really need a car. Personally i bought my apartment close to the my work place so i don't need to use a bus, that's what people used to do, live close to their work place.

Yeah, with our roads, I wouldn't go near them with a bike - I trust neither myself, nor drivers, I'd like to stay alive long enough to see my kids at least finish school! lol.
If I was back on the Islands, I'd happily ride a bike. At the moment it's 7 miles of horrid roads and traffic, not to mention the near constant rain in the lake district. Bus links out here in the sticks are useless and expensive.
I would give my right leg to be able to go back to the days when I cycled to school, 3 miles each way on empty country roads back on the island and then spent the whole weekend cycling all over.
That said, riding a bike with one leg is probably kind of tricky.

Trying to make my PC cool and quiet, so bought some fans.
The CPU fan was huge, at this point i was 95% sure the side panel will not close, but it did. I was going to remove the motherboards thermal armor so that i can get rid of its noisy assistant fans, but decided not to.
Results on idle (~1 hour on with only using internet radio and web browser), left is old, right is new. As you can see (although i did add 2 intake fans) with only half the speed, the temperatures are about the same. Much more quiet.
At this point i can only hear the motherboards assistant fans, which makes me regret of not removing the thermal armor. Another project for another day.

I got myself a Vita Slim on the weekend:
Got it on offer with 5 free games and an 8GB memory card for ?100 so finally snapped one up. Quite a few games I've wanted to play on it but have been waiting for a very cheap deal.
Also grabbed some new earbuds to go with it:
Only had a few crappy pairs around the house and wearing my full headphones out and about is a bit ridiculous. No they aren't Beats BTW before someone suggests it, they are Sennheiser. ;) Only mid range jobs but I'm not spending hundreds on something for occasional use! Sound MUCH better than the cheap ?10 ones I'm used to so very happy.

Very nice, looks like they did the job. I can't cope with noisy PC's these days, it's horrible. My desktops are always beautifully quiet but if I play a resource hungry game on my laptop it sounds like it's going to take off. So annoying.
