Agreed :)

djyogi Both of them have done goood for the happy hardcore scene so I'd have to say both of them are equally as goood. i.e. sy can scratch well as can hixxy, Both of them now how to select good tracks therefore its equal unity :)

DJ Mouse i'm gonna be different and vote for the both of them. hixxy being my biggest influence for dj-ing. when it comes to scratching sy has the better patterns/ability but hixxy uses way better samples imo. when it comes to production they're too totally different styles, and i like them both. and for mixing they're on a par,i wouldn't have said that a few years ago mind ;)

DJ Mouse
djtommyrenegade i'd have to say sy, but i'm a big fan of his scratching, he uses all the hiphop samples, eg fresh, what is a dj, etc and hiphop being my second love,
sy all the way
plus i aint too keen on the new style of hardcore and to me, sy is sorta keeping it more happy, but again thats IMO

I wouldnt say that sy is keeping it happy because i dont think anybody is really doing that. I will agree that sy is sticking more to the original UK Hardcore sounds and not going all trancey like the hixxy and co.

Not that i dont like the trancey stuff. I think its some great stuff. Fact is it is changing the scene.

atomicb hmmmmmm I like Sy's tunes more of late, they are much more bouncy than hixxy's latest. Hixxy tends to overplay tunes and a bit but he's still cool :)

I dunno what it is to me, but yeah Sy just is hardcore to me.. like if could choose any DJ to come to my party, it would be him ... out of curiosity how much would it set me back? hahah

mr bishi If ya asked me 4 r 5 years ago it would have been Hixxy all da way but
since Hixxy dropped da scratchin n started producin more trancy tunes Sy has over taken him big style.

N welcome 2 da boards Clair..

Im not a gynecologist, but ill have a good look at it for you!!
tommo I love Hixxy(not literally) and I think he's a great producer but I'd have to choose Sy because he is always consistent and his scratching is out of this world.Hixxys scratch style is totally different, but he still (when he does scratch)scratches it up pretty good.

Im just a bassline addict
Im just a hardcore addict
Im just a dancefloor manic
Why o why cant you just accept it.
Exhile It is such a shame that hixxy doesnt scratch much anymore. And i agree that sy would probably be my number 1 choice. Sy & Unkown would be perfect. Mind you sketchy & Compulsion are pretty good too. They do a nice bit of scratching

Peace, love and unity

fazza what mouse said!!!!!!!!

exactly my thoughts as well mate.

"I feel you, i want you, i know your touch is all i need, im waiting you're shining"
B.C I'm gonna have to say Hixxy...sorry chaps but i feel he always has his fingers on the pulse of hardcore...he's creatin and re-creatin the scene all the time and his mixing cant b flawed. I think Sy's scratchin is great but I'm not into it as much as all you die-hard old skool fans!

"Doin All We Can To Make Sure That Hardcore Will Never End"
djDMS Both deserve big respect for what they've done for the scene over the years but Sy just pips it for me.
It's funny how the choice of MC's on live sete can make a difference too - There's always something special about Hixxy & Sharkey and Sy & Storm sets (particularly those from years back)

I can remember plenty of occasions in the past where Hixxy's mixing and track selection have been a bit over ambitious, the main problem being too many tracks being cut short before they really got going - more mixes = more chance of a cock-up. Plus, i like scratching in sets (the music, not myself!)
And before you ask - no, i probably couldn't do better!!

We're dancing wall to wall, all creatures great and small
manic I have to say Sy. His scrtaching is excellent and he has good track selection, really knows how to put a set together.

" Hardcore is a feeling, not a fashion" DJ Scott Brown

weba_d Sy for me, i cant get enough of his uk hardcore style..Pow! Pow!
