ok peeps, this is the situation:
ive been a hardhouse DJ for 6 years now, and i really like the dark techier kind of stuff, but the pace of the music just aint doing it for me. whats the closest upbeat dark nasty shit you can recomend i buy to start mixing?
ive been recommended gabba! and its sounding pretty good to me, but then i like the odd, riff here and there!
any suggestions? much appreciated!!

He said dark, dirty & nasty..........clearly he wants some speedcore/terrorcore, or some hard Gabber, there both kinda sub-genres of hardcore check them out.
as for uplifting any other style of hardcore my personal favourite being the breakbeat stuff on "KFA", but if you like hardhouse yet want a faster sound and still the excellent production quality and uplifting sound I highly suggest anything from the past couple of years on "Quoshrecords". www.quoshrecords.com

Yea and he also sayd "ive been a hardhouse DJ for 6 years"
...and that makes the "dark, dirty & nasty" a little flexible impression

i'm up for leaving the hardhouse scene to take on the pace of hardcore, so any sub genre in hardcore would be wicked!
thanks for the suggestions so far. keep 'em coming!

Maybe breakcore is something 4 you, mixed with a li'l Darkcore (the gabber subgenre, not the d&b) and industrial hardcore (best stuff is usually frenchcore). Top that of with some really dark hardbass tekno (again, the french rule at this stuff) or (when you wanna emphasise the hardness) some doomcore (but this is not as easy to find).
This I'd loooooooooove 2 hear

Although I am personally a fan, speedcore and breakcore can be a bit much for the uninitiated. I think that some solid freeform would be right up coldcut's alley. The labels that were already mentioned (Bonkerz, Digital Beatz) would be good places to start. I would also add Nu Energy, Camel, and Blizzard Trax to the list.

Listen to the radio on this site for a week or so, write down the names of the tunes you like, we then might be able to recommend some others like it.
