Hi,

I've got the Best Of United Dance on CD and I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any other tunes or versions of Forever More by DJ Sniper & Phase released on Sonic Boom? Thanks.

Alex.

Err... I'll try again as it just deleted half of my huge message I just wrote! So, here goes...

As I was saying, I was "Phase" from Phase Vs DJ Sniper…

We released two records – Forevermore and Fantasy. There was only two mixes of Forever more – The vocal mix and the Original mix featured on the B side. We released both versions as we were unsure of how well the vocal mix would do so thought we’d give the DJ the option – as it goes they seemed to like the Vocal mix and that was the version that was played. Personally, I preferred the non vocal mix as it was a little more in yer face and less cheesy. None of us were that happy with the end result but I suppose you have to draw the line, otherwise nothing gets released. There was another mix of Forevermore but it wasn’t as good as the others – it was an earlier mix so it was a little repetitive – so don’t worry – you’re not missing out on anything.

Out of the two records released, Fantasy was by far my favourite. It took an eternity to do as we were messed around by our first vocalist plus we all suffered severe writers block but we finished it in the end and all of us were happy with the results. Incidentally, the B side “Fantasy Island” was a track I put together in 21 hours – from start to finish. I was down the studio at 8:30am and I walked out at 5:30am (the next day) with a finished, mastered track.

Forevermore was on The best of United Dance and Fantasy was featured on Hardcore Heaven 4 – both played by DJ Vibes.

We also wrote a few other tracks but unfortunately the music styles were changing quicker than we could produce so by the time we finished a track our work sounded dated in comparison to all the tracks that were coming out. We were all working full time jobs as well so it got really stressful on the build up to a release.

After the two records were released we (myself - Phase, Bob – Dysector and Kevin – DJ Sniper) all went our separate ways – we didn’t make enough money to keep going. I devoted two summers to the studio and decided enough was enough – I still write music although it’s mainly Trance but for my pleasure. I’ve not released anything since but hope to release something, perhaps in the next couple of years. Bob (who runs the label Sonic Boom) recently became a father for the 3rd time so he’s busy with his little girl, Kevin is working and still DJing/Producing although we haven’t spoken for a while so I’m not sure what music genre he’s into – we’re still all mates and I’m sure we’ll all catch up again soon!

I’ve been away from the Hardcore scene for about 4 years now and to tell you the truth I really miss it so I certainly be coming back to this forum from time to time.

Glad to see the vibe is still alive

Best regards

Georgio
