i already have

computer:

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ CPU (266Mhz)
512MB DDR Memory
80 GB Hard Drive
1.44 Mb 3.5" Floppy Disk Drive
24 X 12 X 40 IDE CD Re_Writable
64MB ATI radeon 7700 dual monitor capable..
19" monitor
17" Monitor
Windows 2000 proffesional.
16 X DVD Rom Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
(5.1, etc, with the front panel inputs and outputs, midi in and out, optical, etc)

for software i have

reason 2.0
fruityloops 3.0
sonic foundry soundforge 4.5
a drum synth program.. make nearly any drum sound in Wav format

for hardware..

a pair of 1200m3d's
a pioneer DJM-600 mixer
a behringer 1604 line mixer (16 channel)
a ZOOM mrs-1024 8 track recorder (20 gb drive, 44 hours)
a korg triton studio 61 (useless to me, cause i can't figure it out)
a pair of Behringer TRUTH studio monitors.. (b2301?)
a JVC tape deck (td-354bk, their top model, basic tape deck)

Anyway..

i'm about to get rid of the triton..
and replace it with a synth,
a midi controller keyboard,
and some effects i hope..
what would be the best solution is what i'm asking..

i have about 3500 canadian bucks if i trade in my triton..
and i know about 130 pounds is 300 dollars..
so about 1500 UK pounds i'm guessing..
just so you have an idea of how much money i have to spend.
i have that value in store credit..
but they only carry the following that i know of..

E-mu
Korg
Nord
Roland

Please, i'm really at a loss for what to do..

help?

Well if they only cary E-mu, Korg, Nord, and Roland I'd suggest checking out and reading about these products cause they are all good.

Synths:

Nord Lead 2 Keyboard or Rack
Emu XL-1
Korg MS-2000 Keyboard or Rack
Roland JP-8000 or JP-8080

Controllers:

If you get a synth with a Keyboard you don't need one, but the Roland PC-300 is good if they don't have an Evolution MK-249c.

Effects:

If you get a Nord you will need them, the rest you wouldn't. I'd get a Boss (Boss is Roland) VF-1 24bit effects processor.

Personally I'd get either a Nord Lead 2 Keyboard and the Boss Effects or an XL-1, a MS2000 Rack, and a PC-300 controller. But if you find out they carry other stuff like Novation or Access say so and I'd heavily revise that.

hey, no problem. Where is Edmonton exactly? I live in Boston and was thinking about swinging up to Canada to party a bit. Is it a fun place to party? I heard the scene in Canada is pretty good :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, go to Harmony-Central.com and go to "User reviews" sections to read up on those synths if you want. Tons of reviews and opinions.

EDIT2: Oh and I generally hate Roland synths (one of my problems) you might wanna actually give the JP-8000 keyboard or JP-8080 a serious look cause a lot of people like them a ton.
