Hello,

Ive been checking out this forum for awhile and finally registered! :D

I have also done one mix of happy hardcore which mostly of Australia With Force songs which I would like you guys to check it out. I should mention that I am very new in this field (2 months or so) and looking forward to improve myself.

http://soundcloud.com/seddie/dj-battle-recording-dj-clueless-seddie

Ive included pretty awesome songs like tetris which everybody loves, jump to 16.35. I Apologise for the quality and mistakes, this was my first time recording.

Also, I might have copy the way other DJs do their mixes like Ravine or Cotts for me to practice and finally put everything in one piece. Any feedback is appreciated, oh um.. Im not sure if i can post this here, if not please remove this topic.

Thank you,
Seddie

Welcome dude. :-)

For next time, when you post a link to a mix, start a new topic in the "Tracks, DJ mixes & release announcements" section.

I'll give the mix a listen this evening, cheers man.

Hey man, a big fan of S3RL i see?

Nice mix, the beatmatching is fine and the selections pretty tight. Good to see a Mikk track being used, I havent seen Mikk around for a while.

The recording sounds a bit low quality however. Are you recording it direct from the mixer? The high end of the recording sounds a bit tubey

Ill be more careful next time, no worries, have a listen when ever you are free..thanks JahHH86 :)

Haha, you could say that Acidfluxxbass, and a couple others as well, Ive got one website with alot of Australia With Force tracks, its where i got most of my songs - i usually just look at the top downloads/most favorite etc ;p

Yes, it took me awhile to figure out how to record straight from the mixer, i was quite happy after the recording was done but then kind of disappointed with the quality after hearing it a couple times. I used the RCA connectors to the earphone jack straight into the microphone hole, ive seen some of my friends did it and theire recordings turn out fine, maybe mine was a little too loud :
Oh the tetris song? the end bit was suppose to be a trick, but kinda ran out of tricks.. I used the "turn on/off vinyl" mode on CDJ and tried to make it sound like it was slowing down till it stopped, but it failed haha. Thanks for the input, acid :)

Had a listen in the end mate. You've really only been at this for two months? That's impressive. Beat matching was excellent and a lovely cheesy track selection. Enjoyed it.

Be sure to link us to any future mixes, and try find the time to do one that's about an hour long.

As for your recording issue, I've got myself one of these:

http://www.dv247.com/computer-hardware/behringer-uca222-ultra-low-latency-2-in-2-out-usb-audio-interface--61721

You can pick them up on Amazon for about twenty quid. Quality of recording is awesome.

This noob approves of your mix. It's different, and it fits a lot of tracks in a short amount of time.

I think you should trim it down by 4 minutes and upload it to YouTube.

That bzzt sounds good lmao

Hi acid, i think i like the three alot as well, could you please tell me if you know more? I might buy them songs in the future when.. you know.. i have money ;p thanks.

JayHH86, yes.. it was 2 month of practice. I took a short course but never really had the chance to come to the practice session as school was keeping busy with assignments, i came for one practice session of beat matching, i scored pretty high (but most students did anyway). We still have to do a dj battle competing with everyone else in the class, these guys have alot of tricks, they play a vocal on top of some tunes that matches and im probably failing in this thing as what im planning to do (the 20 mins is my current dj battle set) is just beat matching mostly and use the fader alot, and that BZZTT thing is probably my best trick which is just a very small trick to them haha :
so yeah, im looking to improve myself with tricks and such, the judges for the dj battle know that these are barely tricks. If you know someone who does alot of easy tricks that can be learned in a few weeks or so in video please let me know. Thanks for the berhinger tip, i might get it in the future.. money is a little tight right now :)

edit: oh about the one hour, sure thing.. but choosing the songs might take abit, one hour is pretty long for someone who has been only making one set of 20 mins max ;p. I might post the 1 hour on soundcloud and move the 20 mins to youtube.

Hi D-tor, thanks alot man but i wouldnt call anyone noob as im one of them really ;p. Im looking to put my future mixes on you tube.. i just need to figure out to record in better quality and choose songs that fits in 10 mins or so (you know you tube, 10 mins upload unless you have like 10 mill channel views you cant upload longer;p). If i do upload any of my future mixes I want to make sure that people watch them haha. Yes, as i mentioned before, the bzzt thing is really all i got for this mix, so if you know any cool tricks please share it with me! ;)

I'm not one to give DJing tips, but I can tell you that YouTube allows 15 minutes for all users now. There is no other way unless you're like a corporation or something and strike a deal with them.

As for people like Cotts and Ravine, they could upload long mixes because they have old Director accounts, which are unlimited.

A little late notice, I have finally uploaded the set - cut the piece into two, reduced the volume down abit to avoid those white noise thing. Come check it out if you have free time.
