Really sorry if this counts as shilling! It's just a community-driven hardcore information repository I'd like to get rolling in my spare time. Also contrary to the ads I'm not making any money off of it :P it's all going to the host.

What I'd like to be built up in the wiki over time:
- Detailed information and history on hardcore and its subgenres (UK, breakbeat, breaks, gabber, speedcore, makina, freeform, trancecore, happy, etc.)
- Detailed information and history on hardcore labels
- Detailed information and history on hardcore artists and mastering engineers (e.g. Trixxy would qualify as both)
- Detailed information on hardcore websites and communities (such as this one)
- Production information, information on hardcore production history (the M1, ADAT, etc.), and information on current hardcore production (VSTs, DAWs, etc.).
In a nutshell, a really in-depth look at hardcore in general.
I don't have snazzy templates like infoboxes set up yet (since it will take a while to wrap my head around the MediaWiki software), but it's definitely ready for editing! I should note that the ads go away if you register and log in (out of my control).
Thoughts?

While I'm waiting for the wiki to be moved over to advanced hosting so I can upgrade to MediaWiki 1.18 (currently running 1.16 which is why I can't move Wikipedia templates over), I messed around and created an artist template.

when creating artists pages, have you considered aliases? Some use more than 1 alias, and some dont even have a "default" aliases. I dont know if using real names (where possible) as main artist page would be best

Sometimes artists don't have their real names available or prefer to not have them disclosed, so that's why I haven't used their legal names for their page names.
I was thinking that even if they don't have a "default" alias, the alias that they've used the most would be the page title.

Maybe if their real name is their most-used "alias", that could be the title.

Sorry to hear that :( I know that having extensions like AntiBot, ConfirmEdit, Spam Blacklist, Title Blacklist, SimpleAntiSpam, etc. help stave off both spam and some vandalism.
I remember a while back you mentioned that rabid deletionists on Discogs were constantly removing your contributions there. FYI you're free to make them on the wiki (whenever I get the rules written, I'll make sure that it's noted that the wiki leans strongly towards inclusionism).

If anyone has any suggestions for how to set up the category hierarchy, I'm all ears. Right now I have:
1. Hardware
2. Audio Hardware
3. Hardware Mixers
4. Monitors
5. etc...
I imagine there's a better way to categorize it all, though.
