ok is it just me or does certain music have a stereotype person, with metal/rock it's either "goths", "sk8ers", "punks", "metalheads" etc
but what about Hardcore Techno? the only thing I've come up with so far are people who go out late at night in town wearing baseball caps up high, a few pearcings, old sports wear, very short hair but those are just "townies" who happen to like it, what should it be? ravers? boshers?
a "Gabber" or "gabberhead" is the only legit name I think.

I think UK garage is crap IMO

probably 80 % of gabbers where I live are skinheads. So when you talk about gabbers, people automatically think of skinheads. Stereotypes vary from region to region. So, I don't really see how you can stereotype a group of people that consists of a global group without taking into account local differences in perception.

In any case, stereotypes are ********

in english, you don't usually make a distinction in the gender of a word, so it wouldn't really matter. But in french a male gabber is "gabber" & a female gabber is "gabbeuse"
Does that answer your question?

hahaha i can't imagine how a gabberchick would react if you called them a gabbeuse. it's so camp!

i call ravers ravers. the thing with ravers is that they are traditionally people from all stereotypes and all circles, all jobs, wide range of ages and social classes. so you can't really tell. the gabber and happy/uk hardcore scenes live and work side-by-side here in sydney so i guess we can just group them all together. it's sad to hear that lots of the gabbers there in belgium are skinheads - gabber's good music with good intentions (most of it), it makes me angry to hear of it being associated with racism, sexism and homophobia.

drugs is not the answer... drugs? is the question... yes is the answer

I tell people the music I listen to and they automatically say something like "so you wear those sad white gloves and wave glowsticks around?"

I can see what Hooverlover is saying though, music genres do have their own images and I'm glad Hardcore hasn't got the image of Hip Hop or even Rock!

Most of the people who like Hardcore in the Boro are what I refer to as "Scunners" bit like townies in NY caps and their tracky b's tucked into there socks. These give the scene a bad name, and they dont even appreciate the music, they only like because it Rave and "it's got a Bangin beat" as some put it. Me though, Im a Cyber and always wear bright, neon and UV clothes.

Ahh Jungle Techno Crew
Ardcore Bass Groove!
