Any RPG fans on here?? Just wondering if anyone else has a love for RPG games as I do ( especially JRPGs) and what are your favourites?

I love RPGs such as dragon quest 8 the journey of the cursed king, final fantasy 10 and 12, kingdom hearts 1 & 2, Odin sphere and Valkyrie profile 2 silmeria on ps2, lunar 1 & 2, popful mail on the Sega mega CD, magic knight rayearth and shinning wisdom on Sega Saturn, phantasy star online and sky's of Arcadia on Sega dreamcast, final fantasy 7 and 8 on ps1, final fantasy 12 revenant wings, pokemon dimond on Nintendo DS, and breath of fire 1 & 2, and radical dreamers on the SNES, and....(also for the SNES) chrono trigger!!! Oh my god my all time favourite, and possibly the greatest game of all time!!! I nearly made a topic about chrono trigger alone, but not too sure if many people have played it, the story, the graphics, the battle system and gameplay, the music, all, PURE perfection period. What are your favourites if any?? Would love to have many a conversation with fellow RPG lovers!

Well my first proper folly into J-rpg was with Wild Arms, but I had seen friends play final fantasy 7. Other than that I stray more more towards action based rpgs like the Tales games, and the more action games with j-rpg elements like Ys

It's been a (long) while since I played any but your little list has reminded me of my love for Dragon Warrior 1 and 2 on the N.E.S, phantasy star 2 on sega genesis, and Chrono trigger. Imo, snes graphics were the best but phantasy star 2 had it all, graphics, music and gameplay, from what I can remember.

dang you goin old school man haha

last RPG i played would be like fallout 4/ witcher 3 i guess?
probably my favorite genre; i am a pretty big fantasy nerd and enjoy open ended settings.
never played final fantasy but did you ever play legend of dragoon? very epic!
mostly now i try to stick to MMO's but there are so many bad early/ unfinished games it just not like the old days were people put time and heart into it :/

Yes, love a good RPG. :) Some of my favourites are Rings of Power, Baten Kaitos, FF X and XII, Xenosaga, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, Xenoblade, Dragon Quest 8, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia and Valkyria Chronicles (although that ones more of a strategy JRPG). Not as keen on the western offerings but I've loved Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Fallout, The Witcher, etc.

RPG and RTS games have always been my favourite genres really, at least since I had discovered them. Both massive time sinks though so I've spent far too much time on them!

In the last few years i have become a fan of RPG's and I am a video game collector for the last near 7 years.

I absolutely loved Tales of Vesperia for the 360. I spent a good 50 hours on that game and seriously it was worth every minute to play it. I have also finished Tales of Graces F, Xillia 1 and 2 and I am curently playing Tales of Zestiria.

I got 24 hours into Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 and damn its getting difficult for me but still its enjoyable if you look at it as a modern RPG and not a classic entry to a awesome franchise.

Video Game Collecting is where my money goes today after collecting wax for around 2 years before getting into Video Game Collecting. I have been playing Video Games for a very long time. 25 years :D

on topic as always I see.

Anyways, if anyone's interested, Grandia 2 is on sale on Steam for 9.99 euro. And while you're there, why not check in the Ys games aswell?

i don`t do consoles, you have to play some lame indy game if you want a RPG on the pc

so playing the role of a ass kicking marine is better then a some person with a wand

Well all games are technically role playing (well if you exclude boardgames), I'll give you that.

I have been doing the actual pen and paper stuff. But stopped mid last year a we couldn't find a common time anymore.

Played a bunch of games that are considered RPG but it's something rather different.
