Thought it might be a good idea for the DJ's among us to have a friendly little contest. Haven't exactly put a massive amount of thought into it but it should go a little something like this....
First, reply here if you fancy taking part. The mix can be any style (if there's enough interest it can be split into categories). Old or new mixes are acceptable so even if it's been posted here before it can be re-posted.
Then, after a week or 2 we'll see how many takers we have and if it's worth setting it up.
All mixes can be posted in the same topic and after a set time limit the voting process can start.
I'm happy enough collating votes, feedback etc.
I might even provide a prize!
Might be fun, or could be a total waste of time!
Any ideas welcome.

Good thinking man. Good stimulating exercise where everyone can get involved.
I have zero chance of winning, but I'm happy to submit a mix to make up the numbers/get the ball rolling.

I vote that the mix be 30 minutes though. Hour long submissions may make voters lazy...

Would love to, but im terribly busy with other projects. have to get a mix ready for an upcoming gig, and another mix for a album released in April!
I actually just got finished winning something similar to this, thats how i got the gig!
Great idea though!

I don't want it to turn into a 'who has the most mates' contest so i'm sure we can agree on a proper voting system - maybe even a pick your top 3 sort of thing.
Good call D-tor, was thinking 30-45 minutes maximum to keep the time down.

Yes mate, the first post says it can be any style.
Although i wouldn't expect many votes if i did a Glockenspiel/Celine Dion mix!

I wouldn't vote against VDJ. The only reason being that it would limit the amount on people who could participate.

That may be so, but vdj is Shamefull in my eyes.
Anyone can download a craked copy n start thinking they are Real dj lol, in all they years off dj'ing iv never used it !!

I only use VDJ atm because I do not have the money for CDJs or a mixer.
I can see how VDJ is looked down upon as I have heard that before.
I won't be butt hurt of course tho
