I've always been a Bonkers and SB fan - but having waited weeks for Bonkers XI to arrive in Canberra, I'm sorely disappointed. None of the mixes reach the peaks of awesomeness I experiences with volumes 9 or 10 - SB's mix in particular. Whose idea was it to take dark, gothic lyrics and combine them with dodgy, tinkly, peadophilic tunes? Happy songs should have HAPPY lyrics, and visa-versa - while mixing and matching might be new and interesting, it sounds bloody awful! Tracks 10 and 13 were rare highlights in an otherwise uninspiring mix of bad tunes.
And in all honesty, Hixxy's and Sharkey's CD's weren't too much better - is this just a dead period for good Hardcore tunes?

I cant say im the biggest fan of the last few bonbkers but i certainly dont think this is a dead time for hardcore. I think there is more stuff coming out that is a lot better produced than it used to be and just because it ent happy no more dont mean its not hardcore.

I think its alright. Prefer his gabber though, shame he only plays Gammers kick drum in his tune.

i worship the man but in bonkers XI i was dissapointed that he didnt give much time [just over 2 minutes] to some great tunes, like 'come on' and 'kickin hard' , by the time you've gotten into the track its over and the next one begins

I completely agreew ith that. I dont see how you can squeze 18 tunes into 59 minutes and get a chance to hear em properly. Like he even took rhe vocal out of one tune. Sorry but i dont like it.
I am sure he has his reasons for doing so and to be honest i am in no position to argue. But i will say i dont like it.

I liked it a lot actually :)
It gave him a chance to cram lots of new fresh tunes on it - and stops naughty people using these cd's in thier CDJ's as if they'd got the single. It's better than hixxy's method 'H I T D' indeed. Turned it off at that point!
I must admit it's a bit off having lyrics like 'slipping into darkness' backed up by an uplifting tune as opposed to something harder. I can see what your saying there I suppose...
but errm, where am I go with this? Diffrent strokes for diffrent folks? ;)

i think they're just toying with new things and seeing what works and what gets a response. i can deff see how people could decide not to like it but i think there's so much material around at the minute its just a matter of finding dj's and sub-genres of hardcore that you do like. personally i think some of the dark lyrics/happy tunes combo's really work well on that mix and playing a lot of tracks gives people alot more exposure to the new material, but he cant please everyone!!

the problem i have with SB is i see him live and he blows me away but then i turn a SB cd on and im bored pritty quick, he seems to cut some pritty good mixes a little short (eg when mixing into def of a bad boy) and cut some good tracks short (eg come on).
he doesnt do himself justice cuz hes so good live.
oh s*it man, what was i saying?

I guess I'm one of the few here who like Bonkers XI??? oh well...and I liked SB mix...he put a lot of new tracks on it. Sure he could have let it run a bit longer. And I can say that I perfer some of his sets on other Bonkers CDs but I still like this one.

I prefer Sharkey's mix on XI. I don't care for Scott's at all. Just not my style.

I think b8 was he best of all of the new 1's.
Wasn't very impressed with b11 though very predictable
Hey, buddy! I know I was mean before. But don't worry - I can change!
