Sometimes, when I'm falling asleep, I have flurries of musical ideas flying through my head. Normally they're simple things, like short melodies or rhythms. A couple nights ago, however, I woke up remembering a startlingly-complete 16-bar riff with a melody, chord changes, and (partially-complete) lyrics. Now, my question to you all is, did I actually make this up, or did I just dig it up from somewhere deep in my memory?
I whipped this up on about 20 minutes in Reason using presets. It wounds crappy, but the ideas are there. Imagine that the lead synth is a female lead singing "take me away", then "I've got to find another place, (something something something) in the last two measures.

edit: having listened to it again, im sure that part which the woman is supposed to be singing sounds familiar.. i have the song in my head but cant quite get there :(
