roight
im lazy, i had a small look for the answer and all i found was a regestry edit i could do to change the directory (which worked just fine)
but can you set up more than one fokder for Cubase to search for VSTS? this is mainly because i seem to have installed my VSTs in two very different directorys...and cubase only seems to be setup to look in one of them (now that ive changed the directory it looks for them in via regedit)
also cubase isnt picking up some of my VSTS *shakes fist*
decided to stick with just cubase see - outputted all my songs in FL to midi, re-imported them into cubase, then routed all the tracks back to the VSTs blah blah blah, just trying to make the transition a little smoother, and the only answer i seem to be coming up with is uninstall everything, and reinstall again...yeaaa...perhaps this is just the best thing to do...
...ugh!....effort!!

hey mate just spotted this.
If youre working on Cubase 5 (i dont know if its different for other editions), go into devices>plug-in information and then a window will pop up (sorry if this is very lamest terms and comes off a bit patronising lol its not meant to be). In that window, there should be a few sub-folder type things "VST Plug-Ins, MIDI Plug-Ins" etc. Go on VST Plug-Ins and there should be two boxes; Update and VST 2x Plug-In Paths. Go onto VST 2x Plug-In Paths and you should be able to add a new folder for your VSTs, then when you add a new VST, back in the Plug -In Info window just click update and it should have all your VSTs there. If not i guess you might have to re-install.
Like i said sorry if that came accross patronising or owt, just thought i should explain as basic as possible just incase. Good luck with it man.

Lucky for you, yes you can change the directory. Go to 'Devices' then 'Plug In Information'. then change the settings on 'Shared VST Plug-ins' Folders'!
Don't give up on the transition to Cubase though whatever you do, you won't regret it!
