Alright guys, be nice :-]

This is the first tune i've finished solely on my own. I was playing around with riffs and accidently figured out the riff to the track 'The Piano Song' so i went with it and finished a bootleg mix. It's deliberatly short as i don't think it really needs to be a longer track.

I've uploaded both the mp3 and WAV versions of the file and any constructive criticism would be appreciated especially in regards to mixing down. Can only learn from your mistakes eh.

anyway i hope yous like it

Thanks.

is the bass supposted to be weak for the most part of the song, and strong in the quiet part?

if I'm totally honest with u mate, I think its fairly disappointing. I'm assuming you've found the piano song midi and you haven't really used it to the max at all. The bass is barely noticable on loudspeakers and soft in headphones, it seems to disappear after the breakdown, the saw is rather unfitting and sounds like its playing alone with the kick since it totally overpowers the bass. Make sure the sound volumes are arranged properly since many sounds are far too quiet and some are far too loud. I think that's basically phase 1 of mastering..

its not dreadfult hough and you show promise. Keep up the work, as practise makes perfect> As does feedback, which I hope I've supplied a bit of!

Right guys, i'm new to this stuff so i'm not entirely sure how to sort this stuff out. I don't know how to properly mix down to everything is fitting. Everything is taken on board though. Thanks for your time :)

Never heard it either tbh.

Not bad really mate. Cant see what everyone else is getting at with the bass being barely noticable. Sounds quite prominent in my monitors. Perhaps takes up too much space, the notes seem to long to me, maybe you could shorten them and give it a much clearer, bouncier sound.

I think the big saw lead towards the end is perhaps too big. It kinda comes out of nowhere and takes up so much space if you know what i mean. You can still hear everything else thats going on but the lead is too prominent, maybe too much reverb/panning/widening? Just tone that down a bit and it'll sound ok.

I think the track could do with a bit off EQ, mastering and other technical, producer jargon to give it a clearer, more polished sound, but its not that bad. I honestly cant see where acid and samination are coming from, with the overly critical feedback. I like the little panned synth that plays in the breakdown. The snare playing through though is a bit weak and sounds a bit cack (bad) tbh, maybe change it for another sample and bring the kick up a bit. Maybe sidechain the kick to the pads/long bassnotes in the breakdown so its more prominent.

Like i say not a bad track all though i think you probably should try and put your own stamp on it. Remixes are all well and good but you have to make it your own, that's the whole point of a remix imo. Id say keep tweaking this, sort the problems out with the lead, maybe the bass if more people think its that bad (again sounds ok to me), but more importantly make it your own. Good luck pal.

ok listening now..

i agree with meathead the bass isnt as bad as other people r saying...maybe shorten it as meathead said...i think the closed hi hat loop is a bit loud imo..also i think maybe its a bit bland..u could add in sum automation clips or glitch to add a bitta flavour..maybe a few sweep fx wouldnt go a miss...

the wee digital sound in the build up is quit nice...i also think the lead sound is quite nice...not half bad overall and id lik to hear more of u in the future

ohh i forgot to mention i have a collab between u and auscore on my pc..i knew ur name was familier
