ortofon elektro or qbert om's these are both good all around needles

shure m447 are good scratch needles too

if you purchase an ortofon om kit you can exchange needles down the line w/o having to purchase a new kit.

these are top of the line models so you're going to pay around $70 to $100 each

shure M44's are definitatly worth going with if you are after some scratching funtimes
however if you're looking for a good balance between record wear/sound quality and good tracking i rather like the ortofon concorde blues

http://www.platinum-records.com/detail.aspx?ID=5318

they sound great and i scratch alot and abuse my needles alot and they take a beating :)

Agreed! I've had the same cartridges for about 10 years already. Excellent choice.

EDIT: I meant the concordes. :P
