cd that usually contains like 2 or 3 versions of a song, kind of like picking up a vinyl with 2 mixes of a song on it....

i've never heard of a cd maxi, but i know that cd singles either have a few remixes of the original track, previews of soon-to-be-released tracks or unreleased tracks thrown in, or a combination of the lot, usually by the same artist or one affiliated with them somehow.

cd maxi was the old name for an single with 4 tracks on it
they use to have also smal cd singles with only capacity of two song the same as an 7 inch single.
