Greetings to all my fellow happy hardcore lovers !!!
Let me introduce myself
I am a Russian-born Canadian DJ living in Montreal with an affinity for Happy Hardcore and Freeform known as V3SO DJ (but you can also call me Yaro). I try to mix whenever I can and am always eager to get my hands on some fresh unmixed happy hardcore tracks (no duh - everything is mixed these days...).
Now for bit of insight on my gear; I mix using a timecoded vinyl setup powered by Virtual DJ and quite frankly, I am not thinking of buying CDJs anytime soon - vinyl is the way to go. Here is a list of the gear I currently use:
- Gemini CTRL-SIX (a nice, professional MIDI controller with a built-in sound card; perfect for FX and scratch djs alike, although the layout could be a bit more spacious)
- Hercules Deejay TRIM 4&6 audio interface (perfect timecode solution, an amazing sound card)
- Stanton T62 direct-drive turntable [I will be getting a second one in a couple of weeks to complete my setup] (a good turntable, but could offer a bit more torque for seamless scratching)
- Macbook (late 2010 - runs virtual dj like a dream; no problems whatsoever)
- four passive monitor speakers and one subwoofer
And now for the fun part: my mixes (with downloadable mp3s). As for my mixing style, I enjoy experimenting. I am not a scratch dj yet, but am on my way to becoming one. Here are four of my mixes mixes to get you started:
