Despite being a lifelong computer/video games fanatic, i've not had any interest in RPG style games since the very earliest (and most basic) ones 20 odd years ago. I enjoy story led games and have plenty of patience but always pick more action based stuff.
Tell me what i'm missing, and what i should be buying.

dean if you haven't tried any of the uncharted games I'd recommend them
as for rpgs...borderlands & fallout

Tried Fallout 3, played it twice then traded it in for something with more guns!

alright i just saw the trailer for the new Wii U, and I take back what I said, because afaik the zelda scene there is one I don't recall ever seeing in the old ones, and definitely is not in the same graphics/gameplay as skyward sword! so, perhaps that might be a completely brand new game that will be launched with the WiiU 
EDIT: nevermind, they just made this for a demo to show off the capabilities of the Wii U

They did sort of show a new Zelda game, for the Wii U.
It's just a demo though sadly.

my biggest thought about the controller is how much a new one is going to cost..
I mean theres no way a new one with all those touch screen components etc etc is going to cost $30 or whatever...

It's going to cost half the cost of a DS, because.. you know, it's half the amount of screens.

Which would be a really, really, really idiotic move on Nintendo's part. Even if it did cost a lot what would happen if one broke?

well obviously they'll have them for sale separately. The console doesn't come out for another year and a half at the most it's a bit premature to worry about only owning one controller, which will not happen. I can see them running $50, maybe $75 at the most. Definitely considering this console up looks pretty badass. I hope that it plays DVDs, even Blu Ray
