Funkot (or Indonesian House, also if doesn't sound "house" at all) is a genre that derived from Jakarta and surroundings, in Indonesia. This genre kinda blends a fast breakbeat with lots of cowbell sounds, and uses a lot of sampling and riff covering, especially from Eurodance music.
All the productions anyway are using the same drum samples through.
DJ RONNY is actually one of the main ones of this genre.
It's actually from Indonesia but recently is developing in Japan aswell, with crews like the DUGEM RISING.
Below there's a downloadable DJ set, 100% funkot.

It sounds so cheap, like some pisstake music or something by a first time producer :p
The same drum samples repeatedly used as well, no, sorry, can't see this catching on in its current form. Fair play if you like it, I can see a certain appeal but I don't think this is for me.

I agree. When breakbeat was mentioned i assumed actual breakbeats rather than just a kick and snare (which appears to be the same in every song), which isn't what I'd consider breakbeat. There is no way the majority of people would take it seriously. It's even cheesier than Hardcore (didn't think that was possible) and even that's not acceptable to most people. But having said that i have no problem with it and am not questioning the tastes of anyone that listens to it.

Hah! Thanx for putting that into words, Matt.

Initially I thought it had potential, but track after track hd the same loops, same breaks and the same basic elements. Very quickly, he genre stagnated in my mind.
