^^ what Oli says - if you're playing with tracks you don't like then there's no way your sets are gonna turn out all that great - that, and you'll have more fun if you're playing tracks you do like.

yah, if you don't like it, how will you use it to get the reaction you want from the crowd? listen like mad to all the releases, pick up what you like.

When you mix tracks at a party, what makes it special is that you mix what you love most. The style that you throw in it is your very own. You should never ask another person to decide that for you. Mixing is all about what you love and the way you share that with the crouwd. Your set will sound the best when you put all you have in it. You have to be the one that decides which tracks you play and how you play them. Everyone has thier own style and that's exactly what makes em special.
Once you have that, the skills will follow
It's all about you and the way you share your love of the music through mixing, and later producing.

basically m8, whatever you do dont buy any tunes that you're unsure about likeing, only buy tunes which have that 'x' factor....

Buy records you like, not what other people like, or what you think other people would like... Listen to HappyHardcore.com radio and write down some of the tunes playing and go buy them.

Or go to www.imorecords.com and listen to all the samples. They have a sample for every tune on the website.

Find a local record shop that you can trust, and visit it often to keep on top of the scene. Just buy all the records you like.

A record store I can trust.......
Oh how I wish it were that easy.
I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, I have not been able to find many places that have records much less any HHC. I have found a web site www.subsonicunderground.com that should be able to fullfill my needs, are there any other places I can go and "preview" tunes before I buy them, as I am on a budget.
