Is it possible to use a soundblaster live midi interface to control a Yamaha RM1X. I have the to connected together with a midi cable and I think i've got all the setting right in cubase and on the RM1X yet there is no sound coming out of the RM1X.
Anyone got any ideas?
I have cubase and cakewalk it works with neither. I have the sequncer on the PC set as the master and then the time clock set to midi on the RM1X.
Do i need to buy a new midi interface?
Any help would be much appreciated.

check on your r1mx if there are any lights for midi in or on the display?
then you will know if your pc is outputting midi properly
another really stupid suggestion, make sure its midi out from the pc to midi in on the rm1x, so many people **** that up (i trust you havnt)
also does the rm1x have any kind of perform mode? that it needs to be in to allow incomming midi
and make sure you are outputting on the right port/channel on cubase

Yeah checked all that.
The midi in light doesn't flash though. Do you think there is a probelm with the soundcard or is the soundcard just not capable of outputting midi to this type of device. The midi outputs fine to a Yamaha PSR530 keyboard. Do you think the interface on the RM1X might be knacked?

have a look in the r1mx manual
see if there is anything about accepting midi input?
