I have Vol's 1-4, and one thing I notice on the albums is I have to turn the volume up louder than other discs, and even then, it's not the same "sound". There are also other 90s albums like this. It's like, they recorded the mixes or mastered the CD at a lower volume.

Probably just limited technology. Not everyone had access to software like we have now.
