Hardcore: Happyhardcore. oldskool Hardcore, happyhardcore, gabber, hakkuh
Harddance: Hardhouse, Nu-NRG, Hardtrance, Hard/Hi-NRG (?)
but isn't it all just hardcore?? lol what's going on?

ok but is it just me or is there a war going on between hard dance and hardcore, why does there have to be pigeon holes for everything it's anoying, who decides these things, the media? I bet they are like ok today I will anounce a new genre, "hop acid breakcore" and it will go in the "uk speed acid house soft" catagory!!! how anoying is it!
I think UK garage is crap IMO

Its funny that the mixmag reported that there is not much distinction between harddance and happyhard when in the same issue the harddance CD on the front cover highlighted the differences. But I guess any publicity is good publicity.

i'd say hardcore is a type of hard dance though, but it's still its own catagory, like hardcore shuld be under harddance and then catagorized under taht

i really dont know about harddance because it seems to encompass all that commercial shit that appears in numerous "harddance" compilations, to me harddance is blasphamy and a prostitution of the hardcore scene. ive stuck with hardcore thru the hard times for instance i was reduced to buying vinyl strictly 2nd hand when every and i mean every record shop in glasgow stopped selling hardcore as there wasnt a sufficiant market 4 it. it really pisses me off now that these ****in idiots r jumping on the hard dance bandwagon just because its fashionable, just like what happened with raving a few years bac. to me the name harddance should not b applied to hardcore because its not and as 4 the war being over i hope not because as the way things stand hard dance is set to swallow our scene. this may sound elitist but i feel it is just, as the vibe from hardcore raves could never be emulated with hard dance events full of beer monsters wanting to fight and "pull burds" lol. raving is about letting ur hair down, being happy and friendly and stompin to music 180 bpm +.

I honestly wouldn't mind if that's the case, so long as it's hard-dance getting harder, not hardcore getting softer ...
