I remember they started taking early voting for nominees in each category the middle of this month, but no announcement of any sort has been made to anything.

If they've decided to stop, it would be about time!

Who knows but I can only imagen gammer winning best dj (again) with darren styles edc set as best set and best label either klubbed up or futureworld.
As much as I'd like to see other people win it just never happens....
Although maybe Live at rehab has a chance against best event this year but who knows.

rofl. Isnt it enough that voting for s3rl made dj breeze hurt his brain? :P
It wouldnt suprise me one iota if that's the reason why s3rl doesnt want to call himself an Hardcore producer.

Why do things that happened this year need to make the scene a better place in order to have the HH awards? Do the Grammys, Oscars, Emmys Golden Globes, etc. better television, film and music? no they mostly don't change much of anything in media.
The HH awards are there to honor the best of what's happened for the current year, irregardless of what happened the previous years or even the years to come. Quit trying to over-complicate things.
And I'd say Hardcore Underground has been the one who has improved on releases in the scene. More and more producers and labels are working together with HU in order to bring out their artist albums. Not only have we seen a 3rd artist album from Fracus and Darwin released, but we also have seen a Brisk album, Dougal & Gammer album, No Sweat album, and label albums from Gammer's Muffin Music, Klubbed Up, Lethal Theory, and of course HU DJ Tools 1 & 2.
And the year's not over. HU's Live At Rehab, a unique album that's never been done at that capacity, is being released in October. HU7 and the most anticipated album of the last couple of years, Happy Hardcore Underground, are tentatively scheduled for release before the end of the year.

there has been new stuff released this year in hardcore I know you cannot believe that there hasn't. But like those awards mentioned, you don't need something "game changing" in order to have them, just new releases to vote on.

I vote we do our own hardcore awards.
Two classes:
1. Industry voted, we all agree on and get 10 hardcore pioneers / veterans to vote on like 3-4 categories,. It's closed voting and they can't vote for themselves :)
2. Public voted, much like everything else out there. 10-20 categories?

So an industry choice, and people's choice. Go for it.
I suggest you make voting in every category MANDATORY or else face the issue I had last year in doing one for hhc.com awards. I found it irritating to have people submit their votes with only 3 questions out of almost 2 dozen answered.
