From facebook today:
This week, I've been spending a lot of time ripping, renaming and uploading my 90's old school tracks to my distributors. I'll be slowly releasing everything over the next so many months.
Something I've noticed though, I have a pile of unreleased tracks, as well as a lot of tracks which were released but have never been legally available.
I plan to re-release many of these tracks on Evolution this year, as well as bringing out compilations with dj friendly tracks included.
If you've seen my tracks on Dwarf, Babyboom, Shoop, Bass Gen records etc... they will ALL have a new home soon.
Please bear with me, as this is a long manual process (I can't stress how long it's taking me...)

If it's been released, then how have they never been legally available? Perhaps releases that were done behind his back?
This is pretty much a post that he's been making for years now, but what I like is that there is no vagueness to it and an indication that it is FINALLY coming to fruition soon. More than likely by the end of the year we'll see these being released little by little. And it sounds like he's planning on doing a compilation album, hopefully released by HU!

Yeah, I didn't really know what to make of that wording either.
Wonder if he'll do a Hardwired 4? Or just something completely different.

When he said never been legally available I just figured he meant in digital format.
I'd wondered before if he was allowed to release his own tracks from other labels, do they not own the rights? Or can he licence them to other labels but still bring them out himself?

Maybe they're labels that have been defunct and dead for years, and any agreement that once might have been was voided when the label died?

The label might be dead but the label owner(s) might not be, and they may still retain rights to anything from that label. So if they throw a shitfit over Scott Brown releasing tracks from those labels without proper notification and/or compensation, issues could arise. But it all comes down how UK laws deem ownership in such a situation.

He could well have been given the nod, if he's fairly close to the label bosses.

I assumed he meant stuff stuff that could not be released due to licensing reasons (containing unlicensed samples etc). But what 'ceps said makes more sense.

it's bizarre that he released the older evolution stuff as raw, direct from DAT, unmastered tunes
Nobody wants to buy an unmastered track... Why not master them?!

I'm guessing with the amount he's having to do already it is not feasable.

Even a relatively simple DJ master applied as a batch process to all of the tracks would help tremendously and likely boost sales significantly...

Considering Al storm has released (some of) his stuff on his own labels, maybe it aint that far fetched
