So, I can see how this track is a great opener because of the slower intro that builds up to tempo, but how about mixing into this track? Has anyone ever done it? How does the keyboard and slower vocal line up with a set going 180+ bpm?

It works just fine, just need to be a bit quicker with your beatmatching when the time comes. :)

Amazing track, its quite easy to mix, you just have to find were the main kickdrum comes in. I put it in this mix ages ago https://soundcloud.com/dj-a-k/dj-ak-2001-04-uk-hardcore-classics

Hey Mr DJ AK, that set sounds really familiar, I'm sure I've heard it somewhere before? either way it's a great tracklisting there. Much better than the Happyhard sounds of today imo.!

yep some great tracks came out around this time, people were loving hardcore again after a few bad years and it showed in the music. The cheese levels dropped abit as well.
I put that mix in the mixes section ages ago so perhaps you listened to it then ?
