Not a big fan ... if and when I do listen to the slower genres, I usually go for something harder like hard trance or techno or something. Fluffy trance just sounds too much like elevator music to me.

I like Baleric House cos it's very ravey, Like Jungle and Old Skool. Some trance is okay but that whole scene is being over exploited at the mo; note F&F. Dig most hard and uplifting house but struggle not to smack the pitch right up to see if it will mix with hardcore. Struggle to say I like Prog even if some of my best friends are Housers. They ribbed me for years and a 'nice' way I am getting some pay back. Been to lots of House and trance nights and had a good time but still isn't a hardcore night is it. As I get older House becomes easier to dance to but never gonna give up HHC. Raver till I drop.

I much prefer the faster music. I find Hard house too slow and some of the new hardcore. The older hardcore Brisk used to play is just right but beyond that speed and it's nose-bleed gabber where the tunes aren't catchy or uplifting.

To be honest i can't hink of anything more boring and tedious than progressive house - you sit around waiting for a decent breakdown or hook then realise (9 minutes later) that it just ain't coming!!

Acid house? Oh yes!!
Hard House? Only if it's hard enough
Balearic? Load of balearics!!

Aciiieeeed!!

Mouse I respect your honesty to much to say anything nasty,
Besides I seen your photo and feel as if i know you now, I think
you are very brave to do what you just did. Though have to say,I agree
That you do wait for the breakdown that never comes or worse still after
half and hour you do get one, run on to dance floor cos its the coolest thing
you have heard all night only to arrive in time for the that slow minimal beat to return, so you try and dance for 15 minutes then think 'oh sod this!!'
Fight threw to bar shout at some mates who can't hear you only to fight way out from bar in time to hear another breakdown you like, stunned that you have heard two in the space of an hour shocks you so much you tell friends
'You know I think that night is getting better' only to waste more money the next week instead of setting up your own night.
On a different note, you can leave Baleric's alone!! Without it's trance there would have been no new trancey mixmag hardcore cd, slow it right down and listen to it. Trance broke into House first then hardcore. It has had some bad side effects (F&F) but on the whole has brought back some of the eclectic sound to hardcore

As anybody who's seen DJ Mouse can testify, he is living proof that Progressive House can have a detrimental effect on one's stature. I'm surprised they don't have a government health-warning on the records:

WARNING: Listening to progressive house can stunt your growth.

WARNING: Listening to progressive house when pregnant can turn your baby into a dirty trancer.

WARNING: Listening to progressive house can turn you into a progressive house DJ.

WARNING: Listening to progressive house can result in your having the piss taken out of you by people with decent tastes in music.

WARNING: Every time you listen to progressive house, God kills a kitten.

Really, when will people learn?

It had to be done.
