I wasn't saying to people who just heard hhc now are any less worthy or anything than those who heard it and followed it years ago. I was saying i hate when people take pills and just like the music because the pills are good with the music- thus, its just the drugs that control the person -thats all. I was also just saying that the magazine that slated hhc in the UK&Ireland now praise it and the hhc djs/producers now snear the b@stards. respect due.
its all good.

I've been listening to electronic music since I was about 8 or 9. Hardcore came a little later, round 12. So I've been lovin' it for way longer before I started raving

i think it can take time to appreciate and love something (soundgarden's down on the upside album springs to mind in my case) but i think its perfectly feasable to think somethings great overnight. it depends on who you are. when i was twelve i probably would have flamed this site and been a right nob becuse i had an unfair prejudice against dance music, but now i see why so many people love, and have grown to love it myself. and i know what you mean eddie when you talk about people who like hardcore cuz they assciate it with pills. people who cant enjoy raves without pills, and talk about pills whenever they hear hardcore are the ones who truly piss me off. anyone who talks and thinks incessantly about drugs pisses me off actually, and i'm a recreational user. i'm just in a bad mood. havent had a cigarette in four days... :S

Well, the first time I heard any form of electronic music was years ago (about 10 or 12!) but I loved it.
It was funny, cos I was raised in a conservative environment where "rock" was deemed as evil, satanic....So I stayed away from there. And went to the other side of the proverbial music tree: electronic.
I first heard HappyHardcore on Wild FM 96.9, years ago, Dj Elroy was playing, and I loved it. I recorded the set off the radio and played it over and over again til it broke last year
Then the music disappeared....But I found some stuff floating around the net, I fell in love once again...

word man..
i got into HHC back in 95-96...when i was about 12 from listening to radio
i listened to wild fm too
and there was another mad station.. pump fm??..all i know is that it was hosted by Fenix...****ing use to tape them mixes and shit as well
only started raving recently..only been to 2 and enjoy it...though i like the old radio days just as much
and theres nothing wrong wit genre hopping...i mean i listen to all kinds of music cos i love it...but i like underground hip hop and hhc the most... and i aint following trends...but yeah i hate ppl who go to raves and pop and say its a mad experience bcuz of that..and they don't have a clue about the djs or the music at all...

"As the constant beats of techno have progressed the sound has become more electronic and White. Especially in Europe where Gabber and trance purvey vistas of alien lands, and apocalyptic nightmares - dreams of a White unreality"

I certainly don't have any problem with people falling down the rabbit hole. That is how I found HHC. New friends, new music, well the rest is history. The experience of falling down that hole is superb so kudos to those who do it!
