I just got Bonkers 10, and i am Veryyyy dissapointed...altho at the same time i kinda expected it to be this way. Sharkys mix is crap, as i can say for many of his others in the past, it may be hardcore...but bonkers makes me think of craziness...its certinaly not crazienss. Hixxy is just strait Trance...and well scottie browns set was quite nice...just dark...How is dark bonkers/crazieness? well anyway i miss strait up happy hardcore cheese, ie HAPPY 2b HARDCORE chap 1, 2 specialy and all the rest. Earlier bonkers and things like that..................................
What did ya'll think of bonkers10...and about hardcore in general these days?
Pie...yes pie is good, but i myself do not like PIE...btw Why does wood get so hard?

Yep, I do!
Bonkers X might not be everybody's cup of tea but as a representation of how the scene is at the moment it's second to none.
People seem to be covering the same ground all the time - 'Too trancy, too hard, not as much fun' etc. Things change over time and hardcore music should be no exception.
Cheese is fine but just remember how silly things got 5-6 years ago when nobody would think twice about remixing any old crap tune.
It was daft, pointless tunes that 'killed' rave music and then pretty much the same happened with hardcore. I like things as they are right now thank you very much!
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you

Just because you don't like it doesn't mean that its crap. As a mix, Sharkey's set flows nicely from track to track, and each and every mix is bang on time. The music itself can hardly be said to be crap either. There are some excellent tracks on all the CDs. All the DJs play sets that are typical of the stuff they are playing out in the clubs/raves.
As I have said to each and every person that says to me about how they wish the trancey element wasn't there, and that it would go back to the days when the sound was happy and bouncey - do something about it! go get yourself a program like Fruity Loops, or get some hardware and start making tunes that you like. Bring back the cheesey piano lines and the pitched up vocals. You can't make changes by standing about moaning.

Bonkers X is a absolutely class collectable cd..... Remember that peeps... lol
We all have our own tastes of music and they will all vary but lets still remember that this music still has the potential of bringing huge crowds and making them weep with joy!!
HARDCORE RAVER FOREVER!!
HARDCORE FOREVER
if video games affected us as children, then we would all be running around in dark rooms, munching magical pills and dancing to repetitive music!

I don't think it was dark, apart from the gabber tracks, but they were very good.

whispering has the beginnings of a valid point... heres a fact... trance isn't pure saw lazer style synths, go have a look at trance records. new style hardcore reallly bears very little resemblance to it, save about four commonly used synth sounds.
anyway, taking inspiration from other forms of dance music is all good, it's what makes all music new and interesting. just start worrying when we get "ibiza" style hardcore. thats when i'll start sending faeces in the mail

Warning, probably the longest post I've ever made.
To be honest,I really like Bonkers X.I think it is a great representation of the
scene at the moment.I was a little dissapointed with Hixxys mix because
before Bonkers 9 his mix was always one I really looked forward to,not the
case now though.Sharkeys mix, what can I say?Farkin excellent really like
Kinda Funky,Sharkeys mixes have always been good previously, but this one
is immense! And finally Scott Browns mix,as usual very good indeed...some
nice new tracks on there.Although I think he could have put a couple of
*better* gabba tunes in towards the end.
All in all I think Bonkers X is a good cd all round and represents the scene as a whole.
Hixxys is the trancy, slightly more commercial side of hardcore.
Sharkeys is the less happy Freeformy stuff.
And Scott Browns is the more uplifting, yet darker side of hardcore.
This is my final say on this matter.
Everyone has their own opinion this is just my view.I know that not all of the
hardcore is to everyones taste, but blatantly saying somethings crap I disagree with.
Hixxy,Sharkz, and Scott B are all pioneers of the scene.

It's all about the C.L.S.M tracks on sharkey's mix.
No Hardcore has moved on either join it or leave it, that achoice we all had to take/make, and if things don't ever change they will always sooner rather than later DIE.

Indeed indeed and no truer words were spoken ;-) come on mun ya cant keep dwellin on the past hardcores gta evolve aint it... only thing i gta say i really didnt like was that hixxy went from the sermony bit into bullet in the gun, good choon & all (awww a fave of mine from when i was like, 12 lol) but i reckon he shuda put it into more of an anthem to make it stronger... if that makes any sense... just my opinion. is there an actual choon with that 'hardcore will never die' in it.. or summat very similar, vauge memories but im not sure...???

Thanks RadioKate, everything changes in time hardcore is a very good example of this. And there is another reason why the hardcore djs have (mostly)changed their styles, and that is because it sells, simple as.
Excuse me but it was the newer trancy hardcore that revived the scene.
I think so.So be grateful and play nice.
