djDMS Yep, it's true. I have the results.

Before the big announcement, can i just thank everybody who took the time to enter, listen and vote this time round. The number of entrants and voters was bigger than last year meaning that we got a good, reliable set of results

Congratulations to ALL the DJ's who took part, every mix received at least 1 vote and every single one of you got good feedback.

So, to the results. The eventual winner stood out straight away, with loads of early votes giving him a big lead. But i'm not exaggerating when i say that 2nd and 3rd places were between 5 or 6 mixes right up until the last few votes. to the 20 people who voted, thank you.

So, in reverse order - here are your top 3.

3rd place goes to our resident Goat-botherer
SIMON

His upfront mix with memories of times past went down well with the punters, and rightly so. Quality stuff.

In 2nd place, our runner up....
BRIAN K

The mixture of old and new classics was really well received with 11 voters placing it in their top 3.

And the winner of the 2012 HappyHardcore.com mix competition is.....

ANDY INFLUX

12 of you voted Andy's entry in your top 3 no less than EIGHT first place choices.
The awesome tune selection and mixing struck a chord with the audience. Congrats mate!

I'll add some more feedback later, but for now - enjoy the winning mix again here -

Once again, congrats everybody for making this such a pleasure. Personally, i loved every mix, and have bored my kids stupid while listening to them in the car!

More detailed placings/info are available if anybody wants them.

Cheers me dears!
djDMS Anybody who missed the original topic can still listen to all the mixes here

You won't regret it (unless you hate Hardcore)
Simon Ha, I'm well chuffed with that - Not only did I vote for both mixes that came above mine, but I had no expectation that I'd even chart, let alone so highly! 3rd, thank you very much people!

It was great fun and I think it's only fair to say that I got 3rd because our illustrious organiser didn't take part! Thanks to Dean for doing all the hard work!
Ionosphere Aha, does that mean we win the prize for voting for the top three?

but it was an extremely difficult choice so well done to everyone.
Brian K and here andy felt everyone else did better than him =P

this was seriously difficult to vote on. congrats should go to everyone for making this probably the best comp we've had

LOL. That fcuking cracked me up. Proper hit the spot.
Simon PS - Where's my 3rd place in the hhc.com mix competition 2012 badge!
djDMS Erm....they're not back from the imaginary badge store yet mate.
djDMS Ok.

For the top 3, here are your badges

Sorry, REALLY made myself laugh at that!

Comments on the mixes:
Andy Influx
Playing the stuff I liked. Mid-decade 2000 stuff.
Except for F* Me I'm Famous, that track can rot in hell :P

Samination...
duuur. I am famous!

GrahamC
Come On everybody! after hearing that track, I still don't
know if this one track, or a on the fly crackdown/bootleg.
Overly a Happy themed mix. No real errors in the mixing,
but I thought that Sora Blue could have been played a little
longer.

Claxton
First transition actually suprised me, I thought they where
the same track! Solas An Lae INTO Light didn't work as good :/
I liked how 2 songs basicly only took 1 minute together :P

Simon
A Very different tracklist.

DanyTek
20 tracks in 30 minutes. Not enough time to enjoy the tracks,
but this is no track showcase mix :)
Very flued mixing. Did I hear a little 3 deck mixing styles
spanish/makina dj's are fond of?

Ranzor
Nothing special to say, except for tht Illusion track was nice.

Dopey
Other than my ears are bleeding (hearing the same gabber kick
for an hour is no fun :P), the mix is very flued, which, because
of the kick I presume, makes the tracks blend very easy with
eachother.

D-Tor
Scratching the first song is the only thing i am negative too.
Definitly a poor sample to use for scratching. Aswell as last track.

MaidenV
Makina. A little too much use of hard base for my liking, but no
real faults in the mixing.

Brian K
Someone is still using vinyls in this day of age? A little mixture
of old and new(ish).

Luc-D
A very japanese-hardcore oriented mix

Sorry, Couldn't be arsed to make any real comments on most mixes :P
Anyways, do we get to know the actual scores (in public)?
wong well done andy
latininxtc Oh shit I knew I forgot to do something before leaving for vacation!!!

Surprised you didn't wait almost 2 months like last time lol, but I guess you had more votes handed to you this time around?

it did take 2 months :P
Claxton Congrats to Andy. As mentioned many times previously the standard of all mixes was superb. Would love there to be another competition soon.
Future_Shock Genuinely chuffed and surprised at this. I remember telling dean i felt i was outclassed by everyone else.

Standard was super high though so well done to everyone. Can't wait for another.

And many thanks to dean for organising this (and basically everything else)
Future_Shock And i knew i was going to cop a lot of flack for **** me im famous... but the whole mix is in key and i needed a bridge track. Hence why it plays for like a minute and a half ;)

Also, i wouldn't mind seeing the comments to see if there's anywhere i can improve

Sneaky devil
Ranzor Congrats to the top 3! I somehow knew Andy's mix would get in there.
Triquatra little bit of feedback from me:

Brian K won it for me, with Claxton and Razor being close favourites!
I also really enjoyed Samination's, Andy influx and Graham C's.

special mention to DJ_MaidenV who brought the Makina vibe, I don't know much about the genre but enjoyed listening to it!

Enjoyed listening to all the mixes, well done and thankyou to everyone who submitted mixes made for some good listening at work.
Warnman I voted for Andy Influx and Brian K as well. I have really enjoyed Andy's chosen tracks. Brian K's mixing sounded more risky to me than the other mixes, but he handled it very well.

Other strong mixes: Samination, DJ Dopey, DJ D-Tor, Maiden V and JAJ.

One more notice to be fair enough: I was unable to listen to the mix from DJ D-Luc-D as this mix got interrupted after 3 minutes every time I tried it. I don't know the reason of this, but it caused me to leave out this mix non-valuated for my decision.

EDIT to all the other participants:
This doesn't mean that your mixes were bad, but the bar of this competition was set quite high.
The Dopeman my original mix ****ed up at about 30-35 mins so i stopped n started another faster mix but forgot to stop recording thats why that little radio tuner bits in there lol cudnae be bothered startin again so i edited that in with audacity

you could have done that in the beginning to :P
start over where the track screweed up and then edit it away :P
DJ D-Luc-D Well done to the winners. But I was a little bit bummed because I'd been thinking about who won for ages (I went to the Lake District with school for 3 days on Monday). For anyone interested I chose IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:

>JAJ
>Claxton
>Ranzor

Quite a shame but I hope everyone else enjoyed mine

I apologise for our weather! ;)
DJ D-Luc-D It actually wasn't too bad! There were some light showers so it was slightly wet, and once it did look like there would thunder and lightning. What annoyed me was that it started getting warm when we finished ghyll scrambling beacuse we were bloody freezing!
Triquatra hehe, sounds like you had an alright time though! good job you weren't here last week - mental cloudburst resulting in flooding all over kendal, windermere...langdale, all over!
DJ D-Luc-D I liked walking up here the most:
