I'm more focused on seeing what other people are producing or mixing. I've really been self centered when it came to soundcloud and usually didnt take time to follow others & check their progress, Olly suggested that i use it as a community with other up & comers, but i'm just now getting around to it, so i figure i might as well give it a try while i still have the next 5weeks before i start school. |

I think it'd do a lot of good if people used it as a means to explore and help rather than just promote.
People ask me how I get so many followers and listens, its partially because I follower other people and listen to their music and give feedback or advices.

I still wonder why people seem to add you then you take a look at there sounds and it's a completely different genres. Hip hop. Dubstep. POP :/
I always try to give feedback to people on my list. Although with the more people I add the harder things become. The variety and feed is building up so quick. I think mine is in my signature too.
Archefluxx there's something I love about you, not a gay way lol but you make such amazing music and yet all your music is free. Brilliant how much time you put in. Not many would do that. |

Ditto. This is one of the things I hate about the Soundcloud community.
This might explain why my tracks get around 100 plays or less after several days, even though I've got 300+ followers.

I wouldn't unless they make good music or they're a well known artist.
You can't remove them. They're like Youtube subscribers so you can't control who follows you. The only way you can get them to stop following you is to tell them to, but that would be quite funny. |

I pretty much ignore WHO follows me now, but in the last 24 hours I've got 2 followers saying 'I'm a sassy, fun, single mum who just wants to talk about life, dreams, relationships, dating and girl talk" then they have a link to 'their site' which is actually just a dating site. The kind that say "f**k singles from ******** today!" if you get what I mean. It's kinda bad that CHILDREN like me have to see that, but SoundCloud does try to delete these accounts quickly.

Yeah you get the random follows looking for likes. It's strange. I've noticed a lot of EDM labels following over the past year, which bugs me. Prefer the site to be more about listeners than labels desperate to put their name in as many places as possible |
